Stay safe noco.
Stay safe noco.
Cyclone update....Moving further south from Townsville.......We need the rain badly to fill our dam which is at 18%....It looks like Townsville will miss the brunt of TC Debbie.
The ideal, well so far as anything can be ideal when there's a cyclone involved, would be if it comes ashore somewhere that doesn't have houses or other buildings but Townsville's water catchment still gets a lot of rain. Need a lot of luck for that to happen but it would fix the lack of water without doing major damage to anything if that did happen.
Stay safe Noco and everyone else in the area.
I'm in Mackay. We may see more wind than Townsville. I'd say Bowen/Airlie Beach/Hamilton Island/Proserpine will be in the firing line.
We are as prepared as we can be!

Yes, as I said before, south of the cyclone generally cope more than north.
Hope you all end up OK pinkboy.
Both of you look after yourselves
Update on TC Debbie.
Have you been told to evacuate ?
I believe that evacuation order is for the Burdiken area around Ayr, Home Hill and Bowen...We will be some 100 km north of the TC Debbie where the wind affect is a lot less than those living south of the of TC Debbie....I am not being complacent by any means and have taken all the necessary preparations that we normally take.
I am expecting wind gusts equivalent to a Cat 2 cyclone which is something we can handle.
TC Debbie has changed course again and is now heading for Bowen.

It will hit south of Bowen on current forecast. People in Mackay northern fringes are being evacuated now. Im right on the coast, but Im 12m above the high tide which comes up onto my block. We are all bunkered in the house, as we will feel the full force of the southern side of the cyclone winds.
Already tore 2x sheets off the roof of my workshop, but had to leave work to keep going with preparations at home. That will be Wednesdays job - probably clearing a flooded workshop!
Stay safe everyone!
