This month there was one entrant who forgot to post in the thread of their stock tip in accordance with the competition rules: @Bazzi. I will give @Bazzi another 48 hours to post in the thread of their competition entry. If @Bazzi chooses to do so I will add them to the October competition.

Could all qualifying entrants please check their entry and entry price and report any errors to me in this thread.

Keep track of the results here: ASF Stock Competition Leaderboard

Feel free to discuss the competition in this thread as the month progresses.

So after a bumpy start, @greggles with REE is off on a crazy jumping with a lofty 39% today to close on $0.16 and clearly being a rotational winner out of the Trump Dump covid fiasco.
Good one Greg !

Finicky has been observed sitting on the fence.... which way will the wind blow... CAD way or RXL way...:penguin:

better cover your tail, g-man, there's a few nipping at your heels.

I said this month was going to be an interesting one. Leading the competition early makes it virtually a certainty you won't win unless the stock you're on goes completely gangbusters.

@Springs is going to be hard to beat this month with an announcement like that. 36m at 3.97g/t from 4m is pretty impressive. You don't have to dig far to get all that gold.

@Springs gee getting that ore processed will be the big hurdle - not
I think I am going to at least skim the compulsory posts that punters make about their picks before the monthly comp kicks off, not after it ends like I tend to do. Pretty sure that Edjudina location would have at least pricked my interest.

The end of the 1st full week of the October Competition and the visual journey of all entries compared to one another.

What a great start by @Springs in 1st place ? then a quick backhander to us all by saying there might be a lot more to come ??? Congrats ?. @Dona Ferentes sits in 2nd with @craigj a close 3rd. ?

I know it doesn't look like others have done much compared to @Springs but there has been some really good moves this week.

This week: @Springs up 200% - @craigj up 45.83% - @noirua up 39.58% - @greggles up 39.13% - @Dona Ferentes up 35% - @barney up 34.62% - @debtfree up 31.25% - @finicky up 19.23% ?

Today: @jonnycage up 16.67% - @Miner up 11.11% ?

Enjoy the weekend everyone. :)

good stuff @debtfree

do you ever roll these entries over into to see what they look like the second month, noticeable several picks where the call was a few days/weeks early and in the second month the stocks ran well
just wondering if there's value for some in seeing that

Thanks @Joules MM1

Someone mentioned this a little while ago and I thought this might be interesting as well.

I started, then realized how much time it was consuming as last year Comp there were 364 trades x 3 months data = over 1,000 entries to be made and calculations, then this year on top of it and no data feed doesn't help. My time was needed elsewhere.

I did start with this year's January's results and I noticed the delayed for them by 1 or 2 months was worse overall then I realized the XAO was down for those next 2 months by a considerable amount so no surprise there the same again with April, the market was up so were share prices. My thoughts at that time was, Market down for the delay picks by a month or two so will the share returns and visa versa when the market is up.
There are exceptions naturally that buck the trend but remember, when looking at some of the excellent returns some months if they delayed buying then by 1 or 2 months they would have missed out on them.

All sounds too complicated, and, besides, it's just a competition. Low barrier to entry, negligible consequence to the outcomes. A snapshot of people's thinking, in the days leading up to selections.

I tend not to hold / commit to what I choose; more an enhanced version of a watchlist. And what others select is fascinating. What is interesting is whether the ASF collective wisdom outpaces the market.

The end of another week and 2 full weeks trading left to go in the October Competition.

@Springs still retains 1st place quite easily from @kenny who had a good week to be 2nd, followed by @craigj who only had to sit still this week to retain 3rd spot. ?

Today's Movers: ? @Miner up 18.18% - @frugal.rock up 12.5%

The visual journey of all entries below. Enjoy the week everyone. :)
