45+ years since first seeing him perform*, and learn his stagecraft, in the proto punk Boys Next Door, I saw Nick Cave on Monday night, at the State Theatre.

Just him on piano and vocals, with Colin Greenwood, ex Radiohead, on bass, it was stripped back and totally engaging. Excellent sound, minimal mood lighting. .. He let the songs tell their stories.
