Hi Laurie,

Unless you added a plug-in you'll find that Firefox has no ActiveX support, so there is no where (or need) to turn it off.

Here is the response I got back from Comsec;

Quote:
Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately at the moment the CommSec website doesn’t fully support Internet Explorer 7. Our developers are currently working on a solution to address theses issues.
IE7 is still good for general browsing and placing trades on the website, but you may experience a few blank boxes popping up. We should have full compatibility soon, and apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

Kind regards,

CommSec tech support.

I use Opera most of the time, it's a lot better than IE6. IE7 is really just catching up with browsers like Opera.
Not impressed at all. Considering it says on their site to make sure you have the LATEST version of your web browser.

Hey Chops,

I use Firefox with Comsec, it is MUCH faster than any IE product :D

(yes, I know Comsec say to use IE6, but FF kills it )

Not impressed at all.

To be fair to Comsec I think that any software upgrade needs to be treated with caution. It always takes a while to sort out the bugs. I use Opera without problem and even IE7 works ok - you just end up with a large number of open tabs! Firefox also works as stated above by Macca.

I often use their Professional trader platform. Whilst I am not a "power user" and reasonably underdemanding I find it to be very good, but then I have never had to pay for it. I have to take broker issues into consideration when designing a trading system.
