Market Analysis Software?

I'm not new to the stock market but so far my research generally entails getting tips of friends, investigating current company events and reports and looking at forums. However i think its about time I invested in a good share trading analysis software such as protrader or something like that. Does anyone have any recomendations what is good value for money and effective? the new Fin review Smart Investor mag reviews 5 such programs- Protrader, Share Wealth Systems, Omnitrader, Stock Doctor and Bull Markets. Does anyone have any preference of these, or can suggest others?
