Australian (ASX) Stock Market Forum

What are the two main types of market analysis and how can we combine them?

There are only two things that need to be done:
1/ Develop an edge (least important of the two)
2/ Learn to become a "good loser". Cut losses early and move on.

There is another well tried method.

Just to confirm Garps, you have a pet monkey who you trust to throw darts in your home/house/apartment/dungeon??!!

These Monkey's are in great demand in some parts of the World. Treat him well :cigar:

ps Notice my specific attention to detail with the cigar smoking emoji, just to impress you!

Hi StudentTrader.

Well done – that’s a pretty good article – keep up the good work – I will follow your progress.

I actually cant disagree. This kind of "generic" info is fairly well "accepted" in the mainstream. Lets see if the follow up content has any legs.

I'm not ready to judge ... just yet.

Thanks for the feedback fellow members, i was quite amazed to see some of the comments...quite a tribe you have here.
Thumbs up from me at this point @StudentTrader

The reason ASF is perhaps a bit of a tough nut to crack, is because, for the most part, you are being judged by "traders who know"

My suggestion, if you are genuine, ........ Continue to converse/debate/, and put your ideas forward.

You will find, if you are genuine, people here will do their "due diligence" on your "motives", and will be happy to discuss your points of view.

If however, you are trying to promote something to entice the unwary ....

Wrong place;)

All the best, and good trading.

Sorry to be a pest @StudentTrader but can you summarise in two paragraphs, no more than 50 words per para ...

The two main types of market analysis

As I've quite forgotten what they were.

Then I can have a go at combining them for you.

I'll briefly sum it up fundamental & technical analysis (the latter is my preference) then incorporate 'momentum trading' in shortlisting stocks that have made a 50 day high price & whereby 50dma has crossed above it's 100dma respectively.

Finding 'uptrending momentum stocks' using above criteria usually also means that it's 'fundamentals are sound/strong'. The chart in turn will reflect a stocks fundamentals (without much research/analysis required).

The only two "market analysis" methods that matter are:
1. Meme.
2.Trending on twitter.

I've had good value stocks that went nowhere for years. In this "get rich quick" environment you want in with the first rush of the crowd.

Stupidity wins.

My solution

Stock universe ---- BT margin List I figure they dont make the list unless fundamentally solid.

I trade technically using a Re hashed TechTrader System, a 20/20 Flipper variant, and two other secret sauces.
Longer term. Everything else is short term and fundamentals don't concern me.
