LYC - Lynas Rare Earths

A few Rare Earths things did OK today. Yes, news from China that they were going to weaponise rare earths due to the tariffs. I have been saying for a little bit that rare earths will come good once trade with China is affected, for whatever reason. I thought it would be when they attacked Taiwan, so this is a little out of left field. Not sure how much follow through there will be. Not sure how fast the West can create their own supply chain from the ground to the magnet either.
Hi @Sean K

The only place to separate Heavy Rare Earth (HRE) is China, for mine. Used in fighter jets. The rest is all good.

Lynas HRE processing is coming, but it isn't here yet, but hopefully soon. Then watch China squirm and the SP go to Mars :)

EDIT: p7 1/2 yearly report 26/02/25:
As announced on 27 June 2024, Lynas Malaysia is targeting first production of two separate Heavy Rare Earths (HRE) products in the 2025 calendar year. Construction of the new Dy-Tb circuit continued with commissioning and ramp up expected in mid-CY2025.

Kind regards

And whether it is to get into, or just ramp up production, a lot of cash will be needed so capital raising, dilution..even if the flavour of the time, not so sure rare earth in a depressed market and recession is such a safe haven.
Not specific to lyc, but including it..

EDIT: Just had peak at Announcements. Aussie Super has increased their stake in LYC from 8.50% to 9.51%.

WEEKLY'S already trending but now it looks likely to make a weekly close above $8 soon. That looks to be a significant level? It's already got past 7.50, which is also significant looking support/resistance. Some nice positive volume last week - I assume related to China tariff retaliation. My subjective target, just as a chart, would definitely be higher.

LYC has always been too inconsistent as an earner for me to onboard it as I'm inclined to hold what I buy. But these seem encouraging times for a rare earths producer because of China becoming an unreliable supplier. Contrarily though, China might persist with a policy of dumping at prices that deliberately destroy margin for non Chinese producers and project developers? Rare Earth monopoly has long been a strategic weapon for them.
