Does anyone who is a share trader live in or is near Silverwater to test, trial and work with us on a charting program we have written.

It will allow searching and filtering to look for specific volumes and trades as well as multi screen min-windows and multi watch lists.
You can create, manage and name multiple watch lists. these can then be seen in mini-charts.
Has a portfolio manager allowing multiple accounts.
Sort by all columns in the data, find high volume's or changes in price very quickly.
Check the Picture

We do trade and it was our trading and needs which prompted us to write this program but it needs input from others to see where we can make it even better.
Quite happy to show anyone who wants to see it, just have to message me and we can work out a time.
We are planning to offer live data after its release, for now it has "end of day" and delayed data (1 hour delay)

Option to join us as part of the foundation team as we plan to take it commercial.

Cheers
Colin

Disappointing that no-one has replied. I'll tell you why I didn't, even though I'm a frequent short to medium term trader. It's too much work for too little satisfaction. Why learn new software that I'm unlikely to use? The functionality that I dream about seeing in a trading platform is most likely only suitable to me. Others may not see the need. That's OK because we all trade our beliefs about the markets. What's very important for one trader may not be useful to another.

The US trades before the open and traders can get a good idea where price is going to open and which ones have traded lots of volume before the open. A quick link to the company specific news is a must. If the news is a takeover offer then that invalidates the company from a day trading perspective. Most platforms has these scans readily available.

Our ASX doesn't allow pre-open trading and also has the staggered start. After the open I want to know which stocks have traded above average volume for the period after the open. I want to see those that have traded twice the 10day average volume for this time of day be it at 10:30 or 10:45. This is called relative volume. The platform needs access to very detailed intraday data.

I want to see what volume has crossed the spread for the day, or last 30 minutes. How much volume bought the ask? How much volume sold at the bid? I like to be able to easily monitor this during the day. Alerts when the insto's are buying or selling.

A radar screen like Tradestation is another must. This is a powerful screening tool that can find and list anything that can be coded. Finds the the strongest and weakest stocks at any time. Index is going down, show me the weakest stocks to short.

A replay feature is nice. Not only to see what I should have done but it can be used to fine tune the radar screen parameters. At the end of the day I like to know the high flying stocks that I didn't see on the day. Tune the screen to find them in the future.

Screen and list intra day chart price patterns. I'd love to see an intraday Darvas scanner on 1min or 5 min data. There are many more simple patterns that I'd love to be alerted to during the first hour.

Fully automated trading software. You bet. Find what I want and trade it automatically. All I want to hear is the cash register ringing.
Ka-ching. Ka-ching.

Saw this

Time just don’t have it.
Don't need it either.

But don’t be discouraged.

Question
what is different with this software to any of the 50 plus
currently on the market .
What are your points of DIFFERENCE?

Hello all,
Thank you for the replies, really appreciate the feedback and this is just what we needed to start to map out a path forward.
Knowing what serious traders look for and their needs to view the market allows us to look into what we can do.

Big thanks Peter2, this is the type of detail we need to fill in our gaps, as it is right now it will allow you to see the tops and bottoms for prices, volume, percent changes, movement from close to open, "Notable changes since precious close" , all columns can be sorted and moved into the layout you want, you can turn on and off columns such as, 20day vol av, ave daily change, $change, then we have %change columns for 7,14,30,60,90,180 day changes and also for closing price changes.
There is also the regular things like moving averages and Exp moving averages, money flow, trend, Bolinger as well as draw your own lines.
I have given your response to our programmer so he has some idea of where to look to add these types of features.

As you say "The functionality that I dream about seeing in a trading platform is most likely only suitable to me. Others may not see the need. That's OK because we all trade our beliefs about the markets. What's very important for one trader may not be useful to another."
That's pretty well how we started this, we saw things our way and feel it has potential to be an asset to traders as we get the functionality sorted out.
We do know the internet is buried in charting programs and we did jump in and use some of them, then decided to "do it our way" and it is a good move from our point of view.

The current version is now 9 months old from scratch and we know their is a lot needed to get it to where it will work for you, so this is our challenge right now.
We have researched the possibility of taking it to a live data feed and we can also do international markets, so these can be included as we move forward.
The program is written here, not outsourced to India or overseas, so we can do a lot to fill in the needs of a serious trader, so this is why we did say we need input and so we put out our request for help as we are what we call low key traders and there is so much more needed to make it work for the serious trader and we can do that.
For us, we wanted to get our downloads and then sort them by a number of criteria such as volume or percentage changes from open to close as well as price ranges and volume ranges also how have they done over the past months, hence the colour coding to make it quick and easy to detect changes.

We also wanted our watch lists to be easy to manage as well as being able to see how a watch list is moving so they can be opened into the mini charts with two clicks and they will stay in their sort order (you can move them around the screen) so you can quickly see which one have moved from Green (up) to neutral (no colour) to Red (down). it works best with two screen or more.
Buried inside is the portfolio manager and it will let you have multiple accounts (I have 5 one for each member of the family, invested for the children).
This is working but still being refined and we are going to an accountant to get advice on how to it set up so you can get your tax liabilities sorted out easily.

So guys, all feed back is very, very welcome, our programmer says we can sort out a way to let remote traders work with us, of course if you have time to play with it.

Once again thank you for the feedback, we will be looking to say thank you somehow with access to the program in the future.
Cheers
Colin

Colin, good onyas for punching out Aussie home grown code.

So from your post, the app isn't downloadable to dabble with?
