Just my observation - Most of the Kiwis I've met are very sharp people. They tend to be more entrepreneurial than speculative (not that there's anything wrong with speculation) In other words, they create and do interesting things.

I have a lot of time for them.

Kiwis are now buying up Australia under the First Home Owners grant.

Irish, Lebanese and Eskimos will be next.

Multiple citizenship is now strongly approved of by the Australian Government (you can't be a member of parliament if you hold multiple citizenship), that is since April 4th 2002. Australian citizens are liable for tax in Australia even though they do not reside there. What's the chance we may also see ourselves as people first before we define ourselves as "Australians" "Amercians" whatever ?

Maybe we could see ourselves as part of one planet, one people .

Maybe trying to keep people focused on being Australian just takes us down the path of extreme nationalism. Seem to remember a very effective slogan along the lines of

"One people, One land, One Fuehrer "
