Interactive Brokers Troubleshooting

any update or other info on the above?

I've just discovered same thing has happened in my account - had some divs on 2600 shares , got paid the dividend on 2254 of them and 'payment in lieu of dividend 'on the other 346. That was in a margin account

No more info as IB never got back to me. I am just going to report whatever is on that dividend statement they provide. Either way I have stopped using margin, it was only handy because interest charged was less than what I get keeping the cash in the bank.

Trouble shoot this.....IBs paper trading account. They say "well what do you expect, its simulated!":swear:

They say the trading permissions and market data subscriptions are the same as for your real account. So if you wanted to paper trade an instrument you'd need to pay the subscription for the exchange it belongs to. So I wonder why the data they then give you is "simulated".

No bloody idea. I've been paying for their data for three or four years.

These price anomalies on the Dax and HSI were killing my autotraders on Ninja. they go away on the live account.

This actually happens on my live account too Europe only, but the funny thing is it doesn't affect my stops. I thinks its just bad ticks...

Another thing with IB that i've noticed for years.... at 12:00 noon everyday my connection goes nuts and disconnects and connects everything, are they switching servers or something?

I had this issue with one of my new accounts I set up a month ago. Turned out that the account was connected to the US server not the Asian server and was disconnected during the US server reset around midnight US time (around 1:30-2pm local time).

It was easily solved. Open a ticket, explain the disconnect time is during Asian market hours and you may find you're connected to the US server. I was shifted to the Asian server the following weekend.

Has anyone had issues with BookTrader not staying on top like it should even after clicking the push pin? I've had this problem for a few months now and at first IB kept on saying this was an issue being fixed by the programmers but now they are saying it's fixed and it's my problem???

It usually stays on top like it should if I only create orders through the quote panel in the top but if I've placed an order through the price ladder, it goes into the background as soon as I click in another window. It's almost like the stay on top setting is disabled as soon as I click anywhere in the price ladder.

Would appreciate anyone that can check this for me, thanks.

Not being able to see any of my positions in the "Portfolio" page today.

Anyone having the same issue?

I found their paper trading bizarre when I used it last year when I was testing a trading program with their API - the results I was getting didn't make sense at all. Ended up just writing my own paper trading simulator & only using IB and it's API for real trading.

Yeah I think paper trading with an API system is a problem because the system is likely to be sensitive to slippage (relatively high number of small trades). The slippage with paper trading is way worse than real money. Especially if you are buying near open/close, when there is a lot of movement.

It also seems market-dependent. I was doing "At the open" orders, and the paper trading would get quite close for US markets, but was miles away on the LSE...
