Interactive Brokers Troubleshooting

Sam,

Try cleaning your temp folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\mycomputer\Local Settings\Temp

and IE temporary files, under "Internet Options". This always works for me

I've put it back on System managed or whatever it is, rather than custom. Re-installed TWS and Java, de-fragmented HD, and it SEEMS to be going ok for now, still a bit slow sometimes, how do I clear cache etc?

It depends on what browser you use but most allow you to 'clear' unwanted internet files through the tools option. this is the cache that holds some browsing files.

Alright I'll give these a go, thanks a million for the help guys :)

You will find some files still lurk around after clearing these. There are programs like paragon that clear the rest out. I set the cache size down in size and clear it every time I finish.

And if you have Vista then upgrade to Windows 7. Vista is a dog and needs 2 GB RAM MINIMUM (so my professional tecchie friends tell me) & don't expect wonders at that amount. XP is fine. Am now using firefox, which seems to be better than IE. A separate graphics card may help. The next one will have a separate garphics card.

My accountant has asked for a letter or other signed evidence from IB to show that:

1) the Holdings listed on my activity statement are true and correct as at 30 June 2009 or an actual holding statement; and

2) confirmation that IB systems are independently audited.

I have looked thoroughly over their website for this kind of info, but to no avail. I put in a ticket through the message center and they directed me to email salessupport@interactivebrokers.com, which I did, but they haven't replied yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

latest. whatever number that is.
hit the 'check for upgrades ' button, it said i was running the latest.
Are you in Australia Michael?

Just logged in without any problem or data issue. If it still doesn't work for you, you might want to try your luck with their webtrader

I figured out that it is related with ISP not IB, just had a chat with IB and they said that my ISP can not connect their server. I am user of Dodo.

yep, just spoke to IB and bigpond(myisp) and the issue is with bigpond server not being able to connect to some sites overseas.IB is normal, its bigpond screwing it up. They say I just have to wait till fixed, no time given.
I was really looking forward to seeing how tonights action played out, given the rates news. Thought there might be some nice volatility in europe.

Still can't get on here either. Kinda weird that we're all having problems, yet its all our own ISPs

Do I need to subscribe to market data in order to see market depth and do stock scanning in trader workstation.
