Anyone else unable to log into TWS this morning? I've tried logging into IB's webtrader as well and it's unable to connect. Iress with Man Fin is working fine and all other internet connections are fine.

CB, I had trouble logging in this morning around 9:50am and finally managed to get it in a bit after 10am. I'm normally logged in much earlier, but was running a bit late today. I see it was about the same time when you had trouble yesterday. Perhaps there is extra load around that time when the SPI opens and Oz equities are very close to opening as well.
There may be nothing in it, but will play safe and make sure I'm logged in earlier!
Thanks for that Sails. I don't think the time of day was the issue yesterday for me as I'd been trying to log in for quite awhile before I posted here. That's interesting that you had problems this morning. My issue was that after entering my username and password the security code box wasn't coming up. Did you have the same problem?

IB HK server was down this morning. I've put in a call to the US office but also discovered that you can speak to the trade desk to close your position. The cost is US$ 30 but should be able to get a refund if the asian server is down [So I'm told].
The other thing is that you can connect to the US or europe server via TWS when you click advance. This is something I've just found out after speaking to the TradeDesk in the states.

That's what I meant.
I've also discovered the list of shortable asx stocks on IB. Very interesting. Now I can finally scalp the shorts rather than play with a cfd provider.

Yes I have that. Dark green means that it's shortable but there's no stock available. Light green means that it both shortable and there's stock available. Correct you are when you say red is unshortbale due to ASIC's short selling ban.on IB order management, look for a shortable column.
Green means it's shortable, red means it's not.
