Unemployment should be much lower thn that. People wanted in every facet of service etc. Signs in windows whereever I go.Australian unemployment rate down to 3.5%.
Mmmmmm services inflation
Thats an interesting concept Farmerge, but I am starting to think that there has been a hell of a cultural shift.Unemployment should be much lower than that. People wanted in every facet of service etc. Signs in windows whereever I go.
Had lunch in a nice little cafe in Midland that frequent regulalrly. Before the China disease had 4-5 ladies working tere. Now only 2. Can't get staff. Perhaps life on the dole is a tad too good.

Crickey these public servants take the cake for being blind in one eye and a finger poking in the other.according to the 'official data ' there is hardly anyone 'fit and healthy ' on the dole
maybe all the able staff are hiding in government cubicles , ( or maybe something else happened to 'healthy workers' like early retirement while they still have some super left or migration )
Mr Divs I reckon the bludgers do a really good job at hiding and what they can actually do if pushed. But nobody is game to push them. I certainly would. One hit with the cattle prod and they would instantly run and jump like never before.i saw plenty when working for the government several decades ago ( Xmas mail sorting )
sadly almost nobody believes a single tale of that time
Good arvo/evening mr Mullo. Very good points. As one who suffered near death injuries 3 years ago, I gave a lot of your points a lot of serious thought whilst I was flat on my back for the best part of six months. From that point after being told you will never walk again, never work again, the mind set was bugga off I certainly will. I am back working as I have done for many years, but I now realise what is most important to me and her. Unfortunately life needs some form of folding to be comfortable and the dole is not for me.Thats an interesting concept Farmerge, but I am starting to think that there has been a hell of a cultural shift.
Is it possible that for a significant portion of the population , the Covid responses of governments, business, NGO's and the rest of the population have caused people to sit back and reassess everything.
Those things they thought were important are no longer so.
The societal constructs they lived under have been torn down or despised because they are based on the great Australian larrikinism, religion, or white male superiority, or some phobe or another.
The idea for some people of being independent, looking after oneself and ones family first, then helping out neighbours, friends etc have been swallowed up by a class of people who want to rule over everything.
What is the point of working in a thankless job when customers are unbearably rude, demand premier service for a cheap price and still whinge.
Why work when authorities keep changing the rules half way through a well thought out long term plan.
People who contribute nothing to society other than demands from everyone else seem to abound in the public sphere.
Anyone who makes or builds something that may be needed is given scant reward, if they run a business they may be accused of "wage theft" cos they didn't read the fine print of the EBA as they try to keep their business afloat, or they have to employ people who fir the diversity groupings rather than people with the ability to do the job.
Mick
could tell some other tales from another era , about the guy , transporting new office furniture , for government departments ,Mr Divs I reckon the bludgers do a really good job at hiding and what they can actually do if pushed. But nobody is game to push them. I certainly would. One hit with the cattle prod and they would instantly run and jump like never before.
