Fire Season here in WA

You lads be careful. Stay safe.
Extremely hot and very windy forecast this week.
If something starts in those conditions, well, I wish you all the best.
The furnace door has been left open. Blame @wayneL 😬🦞

This is central desert weather..
All of a suuden the bimbos doing the weather on TV are saying hot, hot.
It was only a few days ago that 37 deg was a lovely day.

No hot work unless sanctioned by the powers that be.
A lot of my work is in stable complexes, so good to go. If outside, common sense prevails, even the scale can ignite the grass and blow up on you in this weather... so that's a hard pass.

Well, I get the day off today, the stables where I was supposed to be working burnt down yesterday. 😲

Looks as if the fire in the Wanneroo area is causing plenty of grief at the moment.
It's horrific mate. I've got another four stables in the area that most likely have evacuated and hope and pray they're alright.

No word from them via socials :(

Has anybody checked if Morrison is away, or available, the management team are probably trying to get his advice. ;)

All jokes aside though Wayne, how close is it to your place? Do you have any livestock there.

We're in the Swan Valley, right at the bottom of the escarpment, so the fire is a long way West of us. Absolutely no danger atm.

But there was a building fire just up the Hill from us this morning, under control now.

Yes we have horses, and in the middle of horse central, there would be hundreds in a 10 km radius.

If anything starts up around Gidge, we could be in deep doo-doo. Fingers crossed.

Wayne I've got everything crossed. Fire in Brigadoon earlier on. As long as the fire bugs don't start anything don't need it.

Total fire ban in place tomorrow for us. That includes anything that could start a fire, so after a pretty frenetic couple of weeks looks as if I will be able to have a sleep in and catch up on a couple of pressing chores around the joint.

Just got over two close by firse and now have one just East of us.
Plenty of sirens and noise from the choppers overhead.
On standby.
Off to check the oil and fuel levels in the loader, just in case.

Just don't take any risks, insurance covers most things, but getting your ar$e burnt isn't a nice outcome. Take care. :xyxthumbs

Looks serious, not good mate.

I'm supposed to be working up there tomorrow, probably not now. Gonna hitch the float up tonight in case it's needed.
