Howling wind here for the past couple of days and then today 2 fires not too far from us this afternoon.
Fortunately both under control fairly quickly.
Not looking to flash for the coming week(s) as it heats up.
The fire unit is filled adf fueled up and the Cat loader has a full tank of diesel just in case.

Now all you need is the P.M to be on hand and all is good. :roflmao:

As long as he kept his trap shut and did what he was told to do !!!!
No. Tony only offends the woke (including the egregious mainstream media), which is a splendid thing. Let him speak.

I recommend his discussions on the IPA yoootooob channel.

Yes his problem was, he was the only normal bloke with a mortgage in parliament, so he had to go. :roflmao:

You can't call lazy flckrs, lazy flckrs, you have to say they are people who don't have opportunity and bring in people to to avail themselves of the opportunity.:roflmao:

It is what it is and we are going to excuse ourselves into a third world country, so be it, you can't fight stupidity.

Had a bit of a heart stopping moment this afternnon.
About 10ks up the road as the crow flies was a call of FIRE.
Turned out it was a neighbour of a family that I do a fair bit of contracting for. Half of their property was burnt out.
The cause apparaently a vehicle caught fire about 2pm and then jumped the 2 firebreaks.
Could have been a lot worse as these properties back onto a 10,000 acre property of which 9000 acres is bush.
Fortunately this did not happen.

Farmerge have you geared up for bush fire?

By that I mean do you have a refuge for that 40 degree, screaming northeaster wind day when it all goes boom?

I had 5 acres surrounded by bush and state government land all ready to go boom.

Ended up putting in roof sprinklers (lots of them) and an outer sprinkler system (lots of them) with water tank, petrol pump for the last stand and survival and removed the trees that would flare into the house etc .

We had a number of near misses over the years but luckily didn't get a fire on the 40 degree days with the NE wind.

Geared up and have 2 fire units, but not that in love with the property that I would stay and defend it to the last brick. Well covered by insurance. Would open the gates and let the catle do their thing which is what my neighbours all agree on with their livestock also.

If you have good escape routes all good go early we had options but were boxed in a little I have seen fires explode 50 metres plus at a time heat unbearable hope you never have to deal with it.

Main road link goes past the front gate but there is always more than one way to get out.
Some years ago at the other farm we had a massive fire started by power lines touching and starting a massive fire. I was parked on a hill quitely watching it all happen and then a fire ball came whizzing overhead. A big red gum (marri) had exploded on one side of the hill and just flew through the sky to another red gum about 1/4 mile away and it also exploded. That was it for me. Off and gone to a much safer place.

If a serious fire gets to our place down on the flats, we are screwed. What we absolutely love about our property makes it a bomb waiting to go off.

House has been there for nearly 100 years so perhaps a low probability going forward

Have to stay safe Wayne a few stinkers coming up

You lads be careful. Stay safe.
Extremely hot and very windy forecast this week.
If something starts in those conditions, well, I wish you all the best.
The furnace door has been left open. Blame @wayneL 😬🦞

Ughhh!!!

And for my sins I have a chokers week of work to get through, I drank 5 L of water today and my p155 is still dark yellow.

... In my normal full PPE and horses jerking me around because the flies annoying the hell out of them (and me). :(

Technically a pretty grey area whether I am even allowed to work with a forge, but it is said that farriers go to hell for hitting cold steel. My elbow agrees.

Well Wayne City of Swan total ban even for me going onto paddocks. 7 am to 6pm total ban on everything for Wed. and probably for the rest of the week.
Appears to be a do nothing week for me. Anything that may cause a spark is blacklisted
