The fewer people you have contending for a stock the less competition, the less the price growth in many cases. If a beginner gets burnt they're less likely to come back to the stock market.
Not a lot of talk about the sharks in the share market game on this site I've found, but if you dig deep it has some good info for beginners although much of it would be fairly outdated these days.

An update from my perspective
Trading is all about buying a position with the hope of selling it at a higher price in the future, that's the constant that never changes. While it sounds simple, it's a challenging and frustrating experience for many traders. The exit - makes the money
There are some effective techniques to manage open profits such as "trailing stops", "stale exits" and "take-profit exits" all useful tools to maximise profits while minimising potential losses.
A simplistic explanation
A "trailing stop" move with the price in the trader's favour, allowing the capture of as much profit as possible. "Stale exits", on the other hand, are preset exit points based on price movement and time. They help traders lock in profits and avoid handing back too much of their open profits in case the trend reverses. "Take-profit exits", as the name suggests, are predefined levels at which a trader decides to exit the position and take the profit on offer. By using these different types of exits, traders can optimise their trading strategy and improve their overall performance.
In addition to these techniques, traders can also combine them or use other strategies, such as time-based exits or volatility-based exits, to create a hybrid approach that suits their individual trading style and risk tolerance.

100% agree with your sentiment. This thread used to be good several years ago but has well and truly run out of steam and is devoid of serious insight. It has just become a thread for "inspirational quotes" in a quest for likes.
