Australian (ASX) Stock Market Forum

Beginners - Introduce yourselves!

Greetings all, my name is Student Trader and I am a financial journalism student. I am thrilled to be joining this stock market forum as it will give me an opportunity to not only share my knowledge and insights with you all, but also to practice my writing skills. I will be regularly contributing articles to this forum and I welcome any constructive critiques that can help me improve my writing and understanding of the market. As a student, I am always eager to learn more about the latest trends and strategies in the stock market, and I am excited to apply what I learn to my own trading. I am also eager to hear from more experienced traders and learn from their experiences. Together, I believe we can navigate the market and make informed decisions. Thanks for having me!

welcome to ASF

please don't mistake my style to actual trading , i am more of an investor , who takes opportunities ( which sometimes looks like short-term/mid-term trading , but lacks the premeditated plan )

also notice the ASF 'save draft' feature , it can be very useful

cheers

The longest DYOR signature block I've seen on ASF.

Hi folks, only just notice this forum and decided to join in, so I can learn a thing or two.
Worked for packaging company as engineer for 32 years now retired. I've been buying shares for few years but there's a lot to learn. I have to start studying this as I have more time now.

Welcome to ASF @vil . Consider posting something once you find your feet on the forum.

One of the very good tools here on ASF is the search button, in the top right hand corner.

I usually tick the "search titles only" square and put in my query or stock. Heaps of information there.

Hi guys,
i found these forums via google searching. I am interested in learning all about the journies of others in this space. I have this dilemma...do i buy shares or take out 30 year loan and buy real estate instead? I used to think that purchase a house was always the best option, however, i am not so sure these days...the repayments are huge.

So does a person pay rent and buy shares without debt...or a 30 year loan for like $700,000?

Absolutely the essential place to start.

The question posed indicates you're starting out. Lots of opinions on this, but the current times are tricky. And different.

.
Now Forum etiquette should be that discussion takes place in the appropriate thread (not here).

Remember, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.
