BEAZLEY GOOOONEEEE

Re: BEAZELY GOOOONEEEE

Why do people pick political parties like a football team?

Mint man, Aust. is a commonly used abbreviation for Australia. "Maybe", on the other, has never been spelt "mabey".
sorry about the typo, have some respect for your country! ;)

Re: BEAZELY GOOOONEEEE

yes !! otherwise AUS looks too much like a clone of USA!!!
;)

sorry that's a typo - should be clown

(Mintman are we allowed to say AUD ? or do we have to say "Australian Dollar"? - just a jest here btw, ;), leading into happy hour lol.)

Re: BEAZELY GOOOONEEEE

Ah, your a wit 2020.
Mint man - "Mabey" a typo? I don't think so. Same spelling on your 30th November BDG posting.

Re: BEAZELY GOOOONEEEE

Don't forget that Julia Gillard is now deputy learder. Personally i don't mind her and she got more balls then Jenny Macklin who i never heard a peep from. Today was a good move on labors behalf. Time for a change both in labor and the government.

Re: BEAZELY GOOOONEEEE

Aust. is not commonly used. not in my book anyway, especially if your being serious about your country. search it on yahoo! Australia. Not much will come up, only Australia will as it matches the first four letters.
Sure its not always practical to use Australia always (AUD,.au etc) but when your talking about your country on a serious subject?? I dunno just dosn't stick with me.
Just like the vietnamese kid in school that told me that he was 'going to burn the Australian flag' and proceeded to spit on me, didnt stick either... no respect. but at least he said 'Australian' flag, not Aust flag :D

I do.

After the last election, when Labor had been smacked, they showed footage of the remaining shadow ministers walking through the halls. She had a smile from ear to ear, as the others walked with their heads bowed. I thought, you bitch. She was happy because it meant she had to be promoted.

Screw the party! It's personal gain I want! And that's the problem with the Labor party. Either way they went today, they have conceded defeat next year.

However, I did meet her in Fremantle one day and had coffee with her for a good 20 minutes or so, whilst she was shadow immigration minister, opposing Ruddock. She was great to talk to, great listener, and struck me as someone who could do a lot of damage, brilliantly directed passion. Maybe it is just her eternal optimism I am mistaking for social ambition.

I am an unashamed person of the Labor left. However, could not vote for Beazley. If it wasn't for his dad, he would have been a member of the libs. Was only in politics for the sake of being in politics, nothing apart from that.

But yes, as a person of the Labor left, I have been doing work for the greens since I was 16 in 2000. I've voted green unless I have been in Carmen Lawrence's electorate. But it's probably people like me they need to get back. Young lefties don't vote for Labor, they vote Green and if they aren't, vote Libs. That's one of the things me and Julia spoke about actually.

I'm not sold on Ruddy. He is an attention whore, but doesn't put a foot wrong.

I am more worried, now that he is leader, and wont be able to be on Lateline twice a night, will it be axed? :(

I'd say Beazley going off that... 2-1 odds. Anyone wanna bet?

Re: BEAZELY GOOOONEEEE

I'm pretty sure the Libs would have preferred Beazley to retain shadow leadership over Rudd.

Rudd, or "Little Pixie/Harry Potter" as he's known to his enemies within the Caucus is a very clever politician. His appeal to the public has mirrored that of the Sunrise program on channel 7 (and they've knocked Today off the top perch), know wonder he's the public's preferred Labor leader over Beazley.

Rudd a social democratic Christian also has all the Christian Church denominations on side who are all opposing The Lib's workplace choices. Family weekends together is something they advocate more than hanging onto your job.

What's interesting is that Rudd went to school with fellow Labour MP Wayne Swan - Swan was captain, Rudd was dux. Swan on the weekend was working the numbers for Beazley!

2007 elections will be close!

Re: BEAZELY GOOOONEEEE

Regardless of who is in government, we need a strong opposition otherwise the standards seriously start to slip. :2twocents

I can't stand Gillard. I reckon they modeled Kath from 'Kath and Kim' on her. Was always hoping to hear her say to Beazley 'Look at me Kimmie, Look at meee' :)

It's no secret that her and Rudd don't like each other, and her camp are hoping that if Rudd does lose the 2007 campaign, she'll be next in line. I think Labor would do a lot better with Lindsay Tanner as shadow deputy to Rudd than Gillard.

As for Macklin, is it just me or does she appear to have knocked back a couple of valiums before she enters Parliament??

As for all this talk of new blood, wonder if the leftie Garret will get elevated to a shadow ministry? Can't stand him either and only good Oils LP's were the Blue album right up to 10-to-1 :)

ROTFLMAO! You think its funny now....wait and see what happens after they're elected. Can you imagine having all the states and the Feds Labour?

God help us. (hmmmm, maybe Rudd has that one too)

Cheers,
