That really only applies to the hard sciences, especially biology at this point in time.Basic problem is politics is as far removed from science as it gets.
Of all occupations, it's hard to think of one that engages in more denial of factual evidence than politics.
The lack of specific technical ability wouldn't be a problem, if they actually acknowleged it and sought expert advice.Basic problem is politics is as far removed from science as it gets.

How are you enjoying Canberra?As a salve to the 'pearl clutching' misery of the last half dozen posts;
Barry Jones one time Science Minister also the bloke who headed up the Commission for the Future has a timely piece in todays 'Saturday Paper' on Democracy in Australia...
A melding of Science, Politics and Society.
yes it's behind a pay wall, but if you all pool together a dollar each, if that's not to much of a stretch, and buy a hard copy you can share it between yourselves. .... Av a good weekend.
The greens are going "full retard". They are being encouraged by the mass amount of idiots in Victoria. Literally a disaster in the making.Yet another example of where politicians can't keep their egos out of technical issues and leave things to experts, absolute dicks IMO.
I would think Michelle Bullock would be under enough personal pressure, without this sort of nonsense, Phil Lowe was crucified, now it looks like it's her turn.
Is there any wonder Australia is heading around the S bend, political gain over sound technical advice, is the current mantra IMO.
Populist politics.
Greens demand hostile takeover of RBA in exchange for passing board reforms in likely death knell to treasurer's bill
The demand that the treasurer intervene to cut rates unless governor Michele Bullock does so herself effectively sinks Jim Chalmers's chances of passing his reforms.www.abc.net.au

Yes absolutely crazy of them to blurt that out.Its really dumb politics, the Greens would know that the demand wouldn't be met so I wonder what the point is?
At this point pretty much everything of a physical nature, by which I'm referring to manufacturing, utilities, public works departments, TAFE and so on has already been done over by politics.Yet another example of where politicians can't keep their egos out of technical issues and leave things to experts, absolute dicks IMO.

What credibility?Yes absolutely crazy of them to blurt that out.
I don't think it will do anything for their credibility.
I don't think suggesting politicians should set interest rates, will win any votes, the general public rank politicians with lawyers, oh hang on most of them are lawyers. LolThey are really running after populist topics with really dumb stuff. I noticed the shift a while back and they really started to push it when the cfmeu blew up at Labor. They are trying to rinse votes out of Labor dissatisfaction.
There are things Labor is doing that are absolutely atrocious for rights and freedoms. Then there are things they are doing that are common-sense and I agree with. Standard of living gone to sht but the budget getting pulled into line.I think the Govt is on a winner by limiting the number of negative geared properties an investor can have, a much better idea than the half arsed idea taken to the 2019 election, the real laugh is the media is obviously getting in a panic that they may bring it in.
Good on Labor if they do IMO.
This was said to include a cap on the number of properties investors can negatively gear and capital gains tax exemptions.
Here sits a right pair of duds sitting comfy on their leather lounges.IMO, this headline absolutely nails it.
Sums up the situation in Australian politics perfectly IMO.
Small target, being stalked by a smaller brain IMO.
Neither of which seem to be grasping what aspirational middle class wage slaves are crying out for.
Talk about a political disconnect, Canberra has lost complete touch with reality IMO.

There's something strange happening across the western world. There's an authoritarian model being laid over multiple countries. All similar and involve:IMO, this headline absolutely nails it.
