April 2022 Stock Competition Entries!

am still looking for next month

traditionally in May i would be looking for a 'safe haven ' hoping it would stay in positive territory ( an Ian Bradbury pick , if you like )

but these are crazy times , maybe there is a niche opportunity

oil and gas should be volatile but no guarantee there won't be commodity price suppression ( ditto for gold and iron )

food seems to have upward pressure currently while logistics should face negative pressure

BUT we also have an election campaign in progress so media shouldn't be totally neglected

it will be a stellar pick that wins next month ( imo )

but TODAY i bought extra CUP , because long term i see more work for accountants ( as taxes and red and green tape continue to increase )

i seem to have missed several other targets , today

I hope I am not out of order here
But
To me the expression "Long Term" IMHO
Is an expression often referred to by "LOSERS"

well i am in my mid 60's and less than perfect health , so i will lose it all one day

my aim is to generate an income source until that day

not all holdings go on to greater things , to be sure but the ones that do , ( normally ) take all the sting out of the duds , and of course some stocks do nothing more than crank out divs regularly something like a term deposit your capital erodes by inflation but you receive regular payments

but isn't that inflation yacht leading , with government intervention wallowing in the wake ( if the official RBA were currently over 5% i would concede it would be a tighter contest , and a clever tack could ensure victory )

That is Australia II beating the Yank's 143 year unbroken winning streak in the America's Cup in 1983
Prime Minister Bob Hawke called for a Public Holiday but I celebrated for more than 2 days

and from memory i was working as usual

and NOW i am retired , nearly every day is a holiday now ( or a medical appointment )
