I'm talking about futures and things.

OK here's some symbols to get you going:

I've only managed to get the e-minis up, no ym, qm and most importantly, SPI. Is there any place I can go to work out the symbols? Because there is obviously a formula to it.

At least it's stopped asking me to accept connection.

PS - is there a way to get a continuous contract with this method on the charts?

Thanks for your help by the way, it's really appreciated.

hehe - there is. [futures code found in description column in TWS]-[exchange code]-FUT

ym = YM(3 spaces)MAR 08-ECBOT-FUT (note number of spaces... 3 and 1)

qm = QMF8-NYMEX-FUT

SPI = APH8-SNFE-FUT

Unfortunately not.

Thanks, that is fantastic.

Is there anyway to seperate the day session from the night session on the charts? So it doesn't muck around with the pivots?

Go to Symbols/Categories and assign the tickers into a "group". While there you can assign each group it's day session hours and select "show day session only" via the "intraday settings" button.

It's all fairly obvious once you get in there.

Yup. Eventually got it anyway.

Hi

I don't appear to have the option anymore to clean up my database. (Something about missing a cleanup.js file perhaps)?

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks
Steve :)

Hi deve,
Have you checked whether the cleanup.js script is still in the Amibroker/Scripts folder? If so, you need to add it to your standard scripts. If not, you can get another copy from the amibroker.org site.

TradeSim and Amibroker

Hello All,

Has anyone ever developed SHORT side systems using a combination of AB and TradeSim?

If so, can anyone help out with the code needed to export the exploration results from AB into TradeSim??

I was kindly given the code for translating the results of Long Systems into TradeSim a little while ago but I'm not sure what changes to the code I have to make for it to work successfully with Short Trades.

Consequently, if someone has some code which they know already works, this would be great.

Thanks in advance....

Chorlton

Hi All,

I think my Interactive Brokers data for symbol SPI-SNFE-IND from 19/12/2007 - 20/12/2007 is broken.

Anyone else have this problem? I can't work out how to delete the quotes without IB backfilling it again?

I've been having massive problems of late as well with this feed. It's not cutting off at the right times, not back-filling correctly or at all within new groups for certain futures. Doesn't appear to be cutting out weekends and holidays correctly. I could go on.

But the ES has been especially bad. I have about 5 seperate 30 minute trading days amongst the proper trading days over the last week, which has made it untradable for me.

And it is driving me nuts because it is stuffing around with my pivots and things. :banghead: Beyond a joke at the moment, and I don't really understand it, because pre-christmas, it was all set up perfectly and then just cracked the ****s all of a sudden. :confused:

Hi rub92me

Thanks for the info. I have found cleanup.js in my /scripts folder. How do I now add this to my standard scripts?

Cheers
Steve

Just wondering if anyone could tell me how it is possible to display indicator values on the side of the chart, rather than on top?

If someone could tell me what code to use that would be great.

Julius,

It should show it on the side automatically, unless you specifically code it out.

What indicator value isn't showing on the side?

It might be "tools"..."preferences"..."charting" tab....tick box that says "show value labels"

sorry I probably didn't explain myself clearly : I've seen some formulas in the AFL library which plot the indicator names and values on the left hand side of the chart, in a single vertical row. But I was never able to work out how it was done.

I've used the plot text function before but it hadn't occured to use for this. If I can get it to work I'll post a pic.

cheers wayne et al.

Just wondering what base time interval others are using for real time database ?

I think it's the tick backfills from IB that are mucking my database up
