Your favourite novelist

Charles Bukowski.

You either love his stuff or you hate it.

I love it. :D

I read Da Vinci code a few months ago. Great story; felt like 'Indiana Jones" type of deal. Beware though that everything about the priory of Sion is fiction. The only tidbits of truth, from what I can gather, are the Roman's use/distortion of christianity to control the masses and that Mary Magdeline may well have been Jesus' partner.

I prefer non-fiction. Da Vinci code was the only fiction I have read since primary school (in anticipation of some juicy facts). High schools ramming crap like Shakespeare and "To kill a mockingbird" down your throat only breeds contempt. Thats right teachers I did not read one of your stupid books and still got a VHA. Mwahahahahaha!

Read all about Yosarian and the crew years ago though, and enjoyed that book.

Washington Irving
Emile Zola is my clear standout when it comes to novelists. Brilliant, genius, exquisite. French realist and naturalist. If you like Hemingway etc. check him out. Really paved the way for 20th century literature in English.

Sartre and Stendhal maybe.
