We hear very little about the big Chinese interests on the Blue Nile and White Nile and their wish is solely in obtaining oil, or more likely milk it from the Sudan, with no interest in the problems in Darfur, providing of course the war only continues in that area. Chinese troops guard their own interests and keep a low profile.

India is the next largest country which is developing and exploring along the Niles and again their troops guard their own interests.

French interests are mainly through TOTAL and the UK's interest via White Nile Ltd., an AIM quoted company, that has been in a long dispute with TOTAL over large areas along the White Nile.

The UK and Egypt ruled Sudan for a long period from the end of the 19th Century and have been careful not to get involved again.

The United States interest is developing Mogram CBD at Khartoum.

It's now off to Lapland before Santa arrives in ernest. Put on your Russian Style hats complete with earmuffs as the temperature may go down to minus 52 deg C - I'm told that if you spit in the air it turns to ice before hitting the ground, anyway, that's what my Grandpa said, so it must be true.

I was going to take us to Finland, but it appears very boring there and even Helsinki doesn't look much, still, my Uncle Dave went to Finland and enjoyed himself very much on three contracts, his wife found out why and divorced him.
