From the ABC -

The World Bank has offered a grim forecast for global growth next year as new data from Japan confirms that the situation in the world's second-largest economy is rapidly getting worse.

The bank forecast slowing growth of just 0.9 per cent for the world economy and said global trade volume would fall 2.1 per cent, as the financial crisis takes its toll on hits rich and poor nations around the world.

"The outlook for the world economy has deteriorated significantly and the global recession will be broader and deeper than previously anticipated," the bank said in a statement.

I wonder if people breed more when survival issues are threatened, so as to keep the species existing.Staying at home more often and releasing pent up tension may lead to greater reproduction via male-female contact.

Government incentives may also provide stimulus to breed.Just one of those forward thinking things Lachy Murdoch might have had in mind.

They'll breed more when they cant afford Foxtel anymore, speaking of which Foxtel would be lined up for the rat**** brigade after FreeView comes in surely, in any situation but especially in this climate.

I posted that as a further example of how fast this is unfolding.

One TV program was about how an expert helped people to save about $10,000 a year, by cutting off pay TV, cooking own meals instead of takeaway or dinners out, and many other cost saving ideas.

I wandered how stupid some must be if they cannot tell where money is going, but same as with taking too many credit cards, too many loans, some have to be shown simple things to realise it is possible to do something differently.

But every change like lost job, changed spending pattern has ripple effect.
So all the gloom will come in waves, until economy stabilises and becomes sustainable for longer term.

What worries me that gangs will start to play bigger role in our daily misery, as many will easily justify robbery if they don’t work, need money and there is no work available.
