Where to look for latest news/announcements?

Hey,

Do you have any websites that I can refer to for the latest press release or company announcements? Otherwise where do you usually go for all the latest news/ann in the aussie market?

Besides the ASX feed, I find it's also good to have a newsreader running as well that continually updates, tuned into compareshares, news.com.au, yahoo finance etc etc. I find that the big announcements will get one kick off the ASX announcement, then another when the release hits the mainstream media, particularly if it's around the 1/2 hour mark (10:30, 11, 11:30 etc)

So, each company will have to submit any press release or ann to ASX first? Then who collects the news or send them to other mainstream media? How do the news get through to online brokers such as Etrade etc. ??

Yeah the ASX gets the announcements first. But the news feeds and other brokerage firms may also have a direct connection to the ASX system and can in theory deliver the same news at the same time.

If you also have real-time data subscription through your broker, you'd also get the announcements fed in some manner i'd suspect.
