Just wondering if anyone plays any games online in between losing money in the share market?

I have been playing World Of Tanks for about 12 months now, great game and you can play free if you want to.

If you want to join a good aussie clan try this one: AAR

Just msg BreakingBad in game and tell him you are from here and you will be accepted in.

I was pretty addicted to this game for a bit over a year:

But eventually you will lose interest and find something more productive to keep you entertained e.g fixing up my garden (while my dog destroys it).

I'm trying to work out whether it's old I feel or
Happy that life has given me far more to fill it.

I'll settle with both.

My wife who is retirement age--she's a cougar
Is addicted to Angry Birds so I understand the
Fascination.

I used to play Angry Birds before bed.
Then I could never sleep for hours,
Probably because it made me .... angry!

I used to play CombatArms which was a good way to kill hours and hours. Haven't had that sort of hours to waste after our baby. So these days I visit jayisgames.com and find the odd casual game or two to play. They usually take no more than 30 minutes if you just want to wind down for the day.

This is a developer that I really like.

no kidding I have had a few people tell me that, and apparently some games could go for like 9 months or something?

Yeah they have different speed servers. The most popular one is a 3x game play server (3 months max) which basically means you need to be online a lot or have others playing your account. If not, you'll be smashed to bits within a couple days at most. This is the reason why some people play the normal servers which go for 9 months, as it's slower and doesn't require as much time.. Sometimes it can drag on for 330 days or so, depending on how many people play the game. It's addictive and not worth it imo. But you do meet some great people, with a lot being mature aged adults just playing as a hobby (quite a few stay-home mums, believe it or not). I'd say there's about 4.5k Aussie players on the Aussie server, whilst some servers (US, Romania, Germany) have upward of 60k players.

And I thought 15 minutes for one battle in World Of Tanks was bad!

I hate to know what sort of hours people are putting in for that game!!

I play some BF3 (Battlefield 3) and buy the odd cheap FPS game on steam, in general i like games and consider my ASX activity's to be a kind of real world strategy game... there's lots of games now where real dollars are involved, sometimes big dollars.

A fun little cheap game i have been playing lately is Grandpas leftovers.

I can see how that is neverending, but fail to see how it is productive?

Because I am slowly winning He doesn't like mousetraps so I lined the pot plants with them and he has left them alone. I don't even need to set them, he just knows they hurt so he keeps clear.

My next milestone will be when I manage to stop him from digging... He doesn't do it much now, but he still does it now and then. He's a 10 month old Black Labrador so is a smart and mischievous little bugger!

One guy I knew quite well, retired in his 20's after selling his business he built from the ground up. Made a lot of money and retired to playing computer games, where Travian was one of them. He'd spend up to 22 hours a day on the freakin' game! Now that's the extreme, but there's the possibilities of how much time you could waste on that site.. Oh and I forgot to mention that it's one expensive game, if you like to advance fast. Some people can spend 100 dollars a month with ease. Whoever owns the company, sure as heck is worth a few $$.

You do of course realise that selective deafness and the digging up of gardens are part of the canine position description and duty statement, don't you?

Life is short ...

As much as you're having a ball with your puppy,
(and I am having a giggle : while I'm reading your post)
there are easier ways to garden!

Or

I have absolute zero interest in online games, my OH OTOH is quite fond of them and has in the past spent way too much time playing them (IMO of course ). I think it depends on how your brain is set up, I get very easily put off when I lose (would never become a gambling addict) so if I play a game/have a bet and lose I'm done with it.
