We just thought it was Chinese internet police getting in the way. OK we are a little paranoid - occasionally!

It appears though that whenever Westpac change some of their formats (as they did last weekend), we suffer disruption. A case of "no gain without pain".

You'd think they could test it first!

I managed to duck out of some positions in the morning.

Which I was happy with but I had one stock I wanted to traded in the afternoon.

Bit of a bummer.

Thanks for providing the link Mr Dog. It is still the only way I can access Westpac this morning.

I assume the link you have provided allows you access to clients cutomer ID and password as they login to Westpac broking.
Just joking.

Westpac suffers online setback

WESTPAC'S homepage crashed yesterday, but the bank assured customers it was an internal issue, rather than an external attack, which caused the problem.

Westpac spokesman David Lording said the banking group's main website was offline from about 8am yesterday.

The company was building a temporary homepage in the meantime, but reassured customers there was no risk to their personal banking information.

"People trying to access services such as online banking or online broking have had difficulty accessing those services," Mr Lording said.

"Most people who use internet banking have the log-on page as their favourite and that was all fine, internet banking was actually working normally. Approximately 70 per cent of customers were able to access internet banking.

"The problem occurred for those customers accessing internet banking through the internet homepage."

Mr Lording said it was an "internal infrastructure issue" and there was no security problem.

The replacement homepage would be up as soon as possible, he said.

WESTPAC'S homepage crashed yesterday,

"Most people who use internet banking have the log-on page as their favourite and that was all fine, internet banking was actually working normally. Approximately 70 per cent of customers were able to access internet banking.

I have both the online banking and online trading listed as favourites and have no trouble now or since I installed them as favourites some time ago. I can recommend it.
