Probably been offered a nice job in the private sector, pretty close friends with the top end of town, but a huge loss to the State, IMO he ranks up there in the top three premiers in my time.Amazing news. You would have thought he would be in for a decade.
It's all a bit sudden, innit? I wonder if there is something else behind it?Probably been offered a nice job in the private sector, pretty close friends with the top end of town, but a huge loss to the State, IMO he ranks up there in the top three premiers in my time.
Big shot in the arm for the Libs, they crashed and burned when Barnett left, McGowan will leave the same sort of vacuum IMO.
With Ben Wyatt gone, next best is that far behind they are out of sight, it will certainly level up the playing field a lot.
I wonder what is over the horizon, that has brought it about, interesting times.
It will also put a lot more pressure on Albo, McGowan gave Labor a lot of cred locally and on the Federal scene, massive hit as Andrews appears to be imploding and Queensland is on wobbly wheels IMO.
Yes one does wonder, possibly big career change or privatisation of something my guess. It all adds to the theatre of politics. It's all a bit sudden, innit? I wonder if there is something else behind it?
Aren't we all, doesn't he know the public has been carrying the politicians, their whole working lives."I'm tired"
Unfortunately nearly 90% of W.A people disagree, but that is the thing with politics, it is about fitting in with the narrative.Dittums to this totalitarian @sshole.
What did he expect from sicking the sociopathic trumped up goons onto the public for a damned cold.
He should go to Hell IMO
As I look around me, I'm comfortable being in the 10%Unfortunately nearly 90% of W.A people disagree, but that is the thing with politics, it is about fitting in with the narrative.
McGowan was a bit of a dictator, probably because of lack of faith in those under him, he made hard decisions and wore the consequences and the media cut him a lot of slack. Result 90% popularity.
Morrison very similar situation, but a hugely greater responsibility, because he was actually supplying funding and underpinning the whole of Australia, took on board a lot of personal responsibility as McGowan did, wasn't liked by the media. Result 0% popularity.
Such is life.
Sorry Wayne I put Magnificent Mark way out in front. That is going to take someone a long, long time to reach that pinnacle of success.Out of the freakin blue, McStalin resigns...
But the Lithium train is rolling steadily forward.Lithium has come from nowhere in WA’s budget papers since 2017 – when the McGowan government came to power – to figure prominently in the state’s royalty forecasts.
The WA government reaped $910 million in lithium royalties in 2022-23, up from $261 million in 2021-22. This is forecast to grow to $928 million in 2023-24.
In comparison, it’s still dwarfed by iron ore, which had royalties of $9.28 billion in 2022-23
Sir R I supposse 30 years in politics is a long time and being a Minister and then Premier it must take a toll on the body and mind eventually. I for one am glad we had him as Premier for the last few years.Amazing news. You would have thought he would be in for a decade.
I agree, if you like totalitarian dictators, a police state and a shambolic health system.Sorry Wayne I put Magnificent Mark way out in front. That is going to take someone a long, long time to reach that pinnacle of success.
He didn't even do that well. The Libs did a much better job of that all by themselves.showed how hollow the state Libs
Sorry to say Wayne not on the same page as you with this.I agree, if you like totalitarian dictators, a police state and a shambolic health system.
