Hi everyone,

I am a newbie to investing and am keep to learn technical analysis and stock researching.

I have been using Tradeview for this but I feel it's newsfeed is too American for me.

Can anyone recommend good charting service be it software or website based that I can use to do Technical Analysts and keep up to date with current stock news and research? I'm mainly interested in researching short term trades where I can buy now and sell in a month or so for a profit.

Currently I use Tradeview for charts and for news and research I use Morningstar, Intelligent Investor, I read Financial Review and Commsec Research..

Is there software or research platform I can use to do the whole lot? Or software I should be using to compliment the above

I'm keen to get the right tools under my belt. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

self the difference between your idea of technical analysis and fundamental analysis

news coverage is not a technical approach, feeds and such do not apply well to technical analysis, even tho they do apply well to a reflexive trader who has a series of set-ups (imho) to trade news feeds, or rather, the fulfilling of the reaction to those news events......

www.thechartist.com.au maybe a good step to take

keep this truth in hand; very little that is important to the auction is not already prepared for, that is, unknown by money that drives price, the only question is; how unready you are when those "events" are publicly announced, as you cannot know before hand, it is good idea to separate the idea that news feeds are remotely connected to either fundamental or technical analysis

My mistake I didn't explain myself correctly. :)

I just wan the news for the sake of having things in the one application, not that i was going to use the news for technical analysis.

With Tradeview I can do Technical Analysts as well as look at some news and ideas and a little research. Was looking for an alternative to this.

The Chartists you say? I will have a look, thanks.

News ... research ... and FREE ...

https://www.reuters.com/theWire

Reuters better than most ..

https://abnormalreturns.com/

the weekly most read often has GEMS ....
NOT the daily its more rubbish. The weekly out Sundays gets rid of idiotic at times daily links.

https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/
The morning links often good contents from all sources

https://www.realclearmarkets.com/
Real Markets ... a LOT of sources ... it sifts, does not contain too much rubbish and lots of sources.

Yep mainly USA ... but .. our market is driven via them.

Of course the Fin Review here ... Wall st journal ... SMH and Australian and then you have a decent reading list. Australian ones via APP and phone saves buying 3 kg of paper a day.

Enjoy
