Thought for the day

Plodability: This is one of my made up words. In life many a disaster occurs including depression, injury and death. Then 'plodability' comes into play. Just keep on going for no particular reason even if there is absolutely no hope. One foot in front of the other and keep on going - even in fact if you have lost the ability to walk then plod on in your mind it is just the same.

My life the last few weeks. I don't want to go into details, but it has been extremely shXt... the crescendo occurring last weekend... just a bit of a discord/cacophony now which may last for a few days/weeks.

I've talked about depression here before, but I like your word "plodability" here. Plodding on has prevented me from going down that shxt chute again. It definitely should be in the dictionary.

Plod on ?

One foot in front of the other will lead you to a better place.

When I hit a low it was a case of getting through the next hour, then to lunch time, then to knock off time, then the next day, hang in there until the weekend etc

Funny how if we break it down into small tasks we can eventually get there.

Our lives are built step by step aren't they

Wishing you a speedy recovery

Curiosity killed the cat...but it was okay as it had eight more lives left.

My point being that all these traditional sayings, cliches, proverbs, truisms, accepted wisdoms, and the like, always basically have an opposite or strongly mitigating one floating around in our English language.

Whether to follow the "he who hesitates is lost" or the "only fools rush in where angels fear to tread" approach in a given scenario is the actual hard part. But I say that like it's even always a conscious choice for the individual. Most people are very programmed to behave in particular ways before the end of primary school (not to speak of compelling genetic and epigenetic predilections as shown by the identical twins separated at birth studies).
