The state of the economy at the street level

Even at 7.5%, middle figure, considering the amounts involved....
And the socialism focus on welfare is everywhere.
I have the house..not the farm .in the sunshine coast council.
Their new plan is being reviewed:
Out of the 5 bullet points for the focus and development mapping:
-absolutely none related to business or anything promoting actual wealth generation, business support or productive infrastructures .
There is one Transport sub dot but all about public transport and BS climate change impact, business benefits would not even have been considered

There is no wealth to share if there is no wealth generation..is that so hard to get in this country, and actually in the West?
That is the situation on the ground, where my tax money get spent and I know this is very similar on the neighbouring Teal Noosa shire.
Am I wrong suspecting this is a national trend?
well the creativity is blossoming nicely , a shame it was creative book-keeping that bloomed first

but a nation-wide trend , so it seems

Shorten has identified 5 to 10% of NDIS transactions are dodgy. The previous governments have not administered the NDIS properly. Sharks everywhere.

It will be interesting to see how he can fix this I want to see the police involved and arrests made. Assets seized as a result of crime. There also needs to be money spent on physically auditing the work nor relying on paperwork.
@Knobby22 I would have thought that physical auditing was paramount.
I know that when I was looking after my Mum's financial affairs, we had to supply physical paperwork to SAT and were not allowed to be 1 cent out. Front up to the auditors every 3 months with the paperwork no if, buts or maybes.

Fat cats are doing very well, thankyou.

I would have thought that announcing 5-10% NDIS transactions are dodgy would have been enough to let the dogs loose, yet the wheels of Government turn ever slow slowly almost as if the have 4 sides not a circle.

Thing are happening in the background I am sure.

No fan of Shorten (ex AWU shonks) but he has been up front for some time initiating the reports and investigations to confirm how bad the situation is which has been rumoured for some time under the previous government.

I understand a big problem is not screwing over those that are doing the right thing to do that it take systems to monitor and regulate which currently don't exist appears to be a free for all.

Was it 90% of providers are not registered, unbelievable.

Builders going quiet in nsw/vic. Big drop off. Haven't seen it this bad for a long time. Domestic, commercial, industrial. Data centres are the only things going up.

I heard bunnings is asking workers to take leave. These bastards jacked the price of materials after they put a lot of the other suppliers out of business.

I'd expect costs to start coming down.

For what the NDIS is and undertakes one would have thought to be a provider registration would be a must. In the meantime, unbelievable rorting of this system to the detriment of those that need the help the most.

I'd say "believable rorting".

Kevin 07s schemes exposed every rort possible. All the ndis rorts were predictable. We can't even recoup the money because a lot fled back to Lebanon and other countries with no chances of getting it back.

Extremely difficult for the Coalition to reign in without a huge media backlash, at least Bill can slash and burn without the media outcry, it needed to be done.
Where I live there were NDIS provider shops popping up on every corner in town, a lot have closed up shop in the last 6-12 months.

@sptrawler It is to be hoped that the current Minister in charge does slash and burn and crucify those that are ripping us off, the taxpayers and also those that are in need.

Time will tell, but if Labor can't, then the costs will blow out enormously.
Im not holding my breath that too much will change quickly.
No checks or balances in place from the outset,
Just a recipe for disaster, and what the heck, it's only tax payers money.
Just up the amount on the vehicle registrations and then there is several more billion that will not be accounted for.
Thinking in my quirky way, Perhaps I should lease a small shop down at Midland Gate and become an unlicensed, not for profit(?), unaudited NDIS support supplier.

You are an optimist @Knobby22 😉
..I am not so sure..😊
Luckily, a few current affairs shows etc might bring this mess to the attention of the union cohorts, and force a corrective move.
Not so sure about the Housing department scandal or the Aborigiise affairs disasters.
As @sptrawler mentioned, only a labour government can act even a bit properly on any of the sensitive subjects: gender, religion, welfare, union, aborigines ...any move by the coalition would be torpedoed by media, judges, UN commissions and unknown "personalities" at a mere suggestion.
Let's hope not too many unions are involved in these rorts and ALP will have some balls..but can as steer regrow balls Mr @farmerge ?
Have all a great week end, and for many..but not us in Qld , a long one

We do have an NDIS thread over in chat and in there I have given examples of rorts from the day it started.

Some were unintentional but it was introduced without any guidelines and in fact it did not even have proper paperwork to register.

It is and was a complete stuff up from day one and unfortunately, people who need the most help are the ones getting stuffed around
