The Media

Though I had no intention watching the farcical debate I did see enough on the TV news to see that POTUS Joe is past his use by date. Seemed to be in a different sphere, mumbling and bungling his answers.
That 30 seconds or so was enough.
So, the people of US have a choice of a convicted felon, or an aging POTUS who struggles with questions.

Rfk is always an option. I think everyone forgot him already.

Tucker Carlson embraces white-supremacist 'replacement' conspiracy theory, claiming Democrats are 'importing' immigrants to 'dilute' American voters

This to me is where it all becomes confusing to me, this Carlson guy is wrong and a racist for saying these people from outside our country are just walking in and basically changing our society and that's racist.

Yet we say that people who came here and colonised Australia stole it, if like Belgium, where immigrants are starting to exceed the number of indigenous inhabitants, when does racism be overtaken by passive takeover?

When will it become necessary that everyone has to accept they are all equal and belong to a Country, rather than being more equal for one reason or another.

Because if that doesnt happen, one thing for sure there is only one demographic that has a growing population and it isnt caucasion christians. Lol

The elephant in the room is the current narrative, is actually driving social disconnect, we cant get people to join the defence forces, yet we are purchasing more equipment that needs manning.

Yet we are telling the majority of young people, that they are colonisers and stole the land, yet expect them to defend it.

I know when I ask a few young people, what do you think about joining up they say flck that why.
They are all being welcomed to someone elses land, why the flck would they feel obligated to protect it?
A bit like the landlord asking the tenant to risk their life protecting the landlords property.

Big internal conflicts happening ATM, no one has seen a serious war in their back yard recently, but no doubt it is going to happen.

Because rising powers can see the huge social confussion in first world countries, due to affluence induced decadence, brought about by wealth induced smugness.
My minor rant

Never heard of Tucker until he and that loudmouth, overweight slob started filling the TV screen a few weeks ago. I have no interest in his spruking.

I think that the Pacific Islands and perhaps Fiji in particular are a case in question.
The Native Island population has been overtaken by the Indian immigrants brought there as labourers many years ago

Didnt one of those Islands have a huge dummy spit, over the Indians taking over all the businesses?

Thats why Fiji had a number of coups.
I worked in Fiji for two years back in the early 90's (thats 1990's not 1890's in case you were wondering).
There was always tension between the Indians and ethnic Fijians, and everynow and then it boils over , settles down and simmers again until the next catalyst.
You can also see it happening in New Caledonia as well as the native newcal residents gat pissed off by the French newcomers wanting citizenships.

"White replacement" or "Great replacement"?
They are two different things.

Afraid not been exposed by extreme white nationalists who have pointed to Carlson repeatedly.

Carlson is a real dog who has long been twisting and perverting story.

That's what I like a man who says it as he sees it, doesn't leave anyone wondering what they think, takes no prisoners, cuts to the chase, my kind of bloke . 🤣

It detracts from a legitimate concern. If you look at Europe, it's become a basket case. Even Australia is being flooded. There are impacts that everyone faces with stupidly high immigration rates.

"White nationalists/nazi" is not a "get out of discussion" card anymore. It's been thrown at people so much that they are now just identifying as racists. These discussions will be forced into action if they are not heard imo.
You can see it brewing.

Unfortunately dog whistling about immigrants and blaming them for any of the countries woes has long been a right wing political thing and it's obvious.

Carlson actually actacks the people themselves and what they will do absolute dog act along with Trump.

In Australia Howard won an election using it, Hanson has gotten elected using it all pretty nasty stuff.

That's opposed to genuine concern about policy which is totally different.

An issue is simply that the practical effects, that is concern about policy, have become all to apparent to the mainstream.

Infrastructure, housing, environment, etc plus the loss of cultural identity are all very real concerns for many. :2twocents

It's not "immigration"- it's the level of immigration. People can't even rent at this stage.
At some point social payments collapse. All because it's thought as "a bit racist".
It needs to be at sensible levels.

The younger generation are all getting pizzed off big time, I actually found out how much today, at an off the cuff get together out in the wheatbelt.
One son works as a farm hand, his brother works in a Power Station, both had the same take on it, they are getting screwed over.
Interesting times.
The election will be the most interesting in the last 20 years IMO, will the concerns of the have nots, outweigh the voting block of the East Coast haves. :xyxthumbs

Good evening
Nine CEO Mike Sneesby, on Friday slashed 200 jobs mostly in the company’s publishing division, which is home to The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review, the Brisbane Times and WAtoday.

As many as 90 roles across Nine’s publishing division will be made redundant. A further 38 jobs will be shed in the company’s TV arm, with the remainder of the cuts spread across the rest of the media organisation.

Kind regards
rcw1

Probably why you don't see a lot of dog whisling in left wing countries, they don't have a problem with immigrants coming, more a problem with locals leaving. ;)

@moXJO On the TV news tonight the WA Govt has been given Fed go-ahead for 10,000 trades to become workers here in WA.
That is all and fine, but where will they be housed.
We certainly will not be putting our remaining empty house up for lease/rent.
Been there, done that. Once bitten is enough.

Well it props up the East Coast property investors W.A exposure and puts a lid on wage demands, so another band aid on the scab.

@farmerge imagine the implosion, when all these Eastern States property investors buying sight unseen, actually realise what renting in some of these suburbs is like.
There is going to be some horror stories IMO.
Time will tell, but how the hell they expect to land this well, is beyond me.
