Jeanne Baret, b. 1740, became the first woman to circumnavigate the globe on the voyage led by Loius Antoine de Bouganville. She signed on under the name Jean Baret as an assistant to the expedition's naturalist Philibert Commerçon (and was his lover). Just today: waiting to exit a strip mall car park. The guy was obviously on his phone and missed about four opportunities to get out. A little bit of a toot to wake him up earned me the middle finger.
