I don't know if the above figures on net immigration also include the temporary visa holders.
If it does not, it is hardly a surprise there is competition for jobs and housing.

Sometimes ya just can't win...

‘Stand condemned’: Dutton lashes Albo on Israel. BOOO

‘Complicity’: Faruqi lashes Labor on Gaza. BOOO

C'mon Albo - stop the wars. If Trump can do it before even becoming the pres as promised, why can't Labor do it ? LOL

That's a lot of new people who need to buy stuff, which is a sugar hit, the problem is if half on them end up on welfare it is a huge amount of bricks in the backpack of Australia.

Hopefully they are lifters, not leaners, as someone once said and was suitably chastised. ;)

It is all getting to the pointy end with Australia, living on past glories and past work ethos, is fast coming to an end IMO.

Fortunately I think middle Australia is waking up, time will tell.

Total numbers are broken down not hard to find on the net think I posted before somewhere net migration last look was 185K biggest cohort was students etc all temporary.

Would be interesting to see the overall average with the stoppage over covid.

Still after traveling down the SE QLD and NSW coast and seeing how clogged up the place was couldn't get out of there fast enough clearly numbers are high no matter what they are.

Albo's not quite reading the room on this one. Sure, he has earnt a lot of money as a senior politician and deserves to spend it, but when we're going through a 'housing crisis' etc etc crisis, it's just a bad look for the man who grew up in a housing commission unit with his single mum to be splurging. Doesn't he have a Lodge in Canberra and Kirribilli on Sydney Harbour already? Maybe he could have waited until he was out of power, after the next election.

Nice digs but.

Perhaps he is planning for an early retirement, forced or voluntary.

Mr Harbourside Cliff Mansion gate 2. It didn't work for Bill Shorten last time.

Just sayin'

I'm sure he will do the right thing and rent it out to 4 or 5 families.

Nah Horace, at the very minimum he should be providing it for free to some of the hundreds of Palestinian refugees he allowed into the country without any background checking.
I have no doubt they will treat the place with great respect.

Dutton owns six properties so lets not make too much of Alvo's meagre purchase.

I don't think Dutton would buy another one in the lead up to an election based on cost of living, interest rates, global boiling, and a housing crisis. This is incredibly poor judgement from the PM. Maybe Princess Jodie has him where she wants and squeezed the right way.

At least Albo is selling his house in the inner city so that is one property freed up.

Yeah, he must have needed to get the finances sorted to convince the bank he could service the loan. They know he's only going to be on the ex-PM pension in 6-12 months.
