Or indeed Morrison and the SMH or the Guardian getting onto it.
That is the good thing about having both sides of politics having a left and right biased media,
it wouldn't work, if there was only one side given air, the voice would already be in.
I'm not a big fan of the media using a politicians kids in the political point scoring game, having 4 of my own I know balancing family loyalties with work loyalties was hard enough, without trying to do it on the political scene with the media hanging around like vultures. No mention of Albo's son and the Chairman's Lounge on the ABC that I can find.
Plenty of others.
But if they don’t you end up with Hunter Biden.I'm not a big fan of the media using a politicians kids in the political point scoring game, having 4 of my own I know balancing family loyalties with work loyalties was hard enough, without trying to do it on the political scene with the media hanging around like vultures.
Realistically the depths the media plunged to with the Morrison holiday, subs, holding a hose in a bushfire etc IMO was shameful, how he kept is marriage together during his tenure, while dealing the rabid media was amazing IMO.
Hopefully Albo doesn't face the same level of harassment and bullying, in reality nobody deserves it, the politicians same as the cops in most instances they are just doing their job and 9 times out of 10 it is a thankless one.
The right leaning media is held to account by calling it the Murdoch pro right press, unfortunately no one calls out the left leaning media, which is a shame as some of it is public funded and therefore there is a public expectation it is unbiased .
It really is a shame there isn't a middle ground media, but I think it is forming through social media and on forums such as this one where people can have differing opinions and both sides can air their differences in a fairly civil and in depth way, by putting their thoughts and supporting articles that they believe up for scrutiny by the other members.

Well it is a bit more difficult in the Westminster system, there are a lot more checks and blocks in place, than in a republic where the elites run the show and make the rules, where there is power and money there is always corruption. But if they don’t you end up with Hunter Biden.
Yes really if they are going to cut the top level tax rate, they really need to increase the GST IMO, otherwise the indirect tax base will have to be broadened and then that becomes a pick the loser which becomes very unfair.Well, Albo has copped a lot in this space over the Voice, rightly so in my opinion, he's not thinking it through.
Morrison copped it over Robodebt, rightly so again so things even out.
I'm interested to see what Chalmers says at the Press Club on Thursday. I hope he gives some inkling of what plans the Govt has to tackle the future of the economy , and hopefully he just won't bring out the old hackneyed phrase "we need to have a conversation". He's the one who needs to start talking and give us some options. Increase GST ?, mining tax ? super profits tax ? Abolish negative gearing ? Whatever, just put it all out there and see what happens.

Ref Chairman's Lounge, I've just read an interesting article in the Fin on the lounge and how to get in. You can't apply and you need to be approved by Joyce or Goyder, so they were either personally approached by the PM of they thought it was a 'smart' idea to invite Albo's kid in, obviously for commercial gain.
How can I join the Chairman’s Lounge?
No number of frequent flyer points or money will get you through the door. You need to have a high-profile and influential job in politics, the public service, business or law, or failing that, perhaps be a celebrity.
After all, this is a place where company directors, politicians, judges and chief executives can “bump into each other” and informally network, away from the outside world.
(At the same time, discretion is required, we hear. One regular patron recalls an occasion when a CEO spotted a notoriously fierce public servant he had been trying to meet with. The CEO was greeted with a firm “talk to the hand” signal and was forced to retreat.)
Members are personally approved by Joyce or Qantas chairman Richard Goyder. Other than that, how someone is chosen for membership is a tightly guarded secret.
Joyce has said that Chairman’s Lounge membership is “a commercial arrangement”.
High-flying MPs and senators are offered access as a thanks for the government continuing to award Qantas the bulk of its own travel contracts.
A lot of influence peddlars in other words.
One wonders what influence a certain Nathan has ?
Labor used to be a party that decried "boys clubs", now they have obviously joined it.
The unspoken background is free trade peaked quite some time ago and in my view we're going to see a lot more protectionism from here on across all sorts of things.I'm sure that the Chairman's lounge will be rejoicing now that Qatar has been denied extra flights.
Meanwhile the consumer pays higher air fares.
Good and bad in some ways. Done properly it could be more efficient, done badly it could lead to complacency and cronyism. Just depends on the circumstances. The unspoken background is free trade peaked quite some time ago and in my view we're going to see a lot more protectionism from here on across all sorts of things.
Haha I love Albo's tshirt
Worth watching "What broke the rental market" on ABC iView. This IMO this is the new elephant in the room, the Government with the pro inflation attitude, is going to drive the biggest wealth gap in Australia's history unless it acts quickly.
Before the last election the media was full of the cost of housing in Sydney/Melbourne, well now those with the houses in Sydney/Melbourne appear to be using that increased equity to invest in other States.
IMO this will end up with a massive working poor the way it is going, all analysis says that the most important thing to ensure a good retirement is owning a house, that is being blown completely sky high. It will end up a tragedy IMO, there will be nowhere that those less fortunate can escape to.
Houses in a low socio economic area near myself, in the last 12 months have gone from unsellable, to bought sight unseen by Eastern State buyers for $100k more than they were selling for 8 months ago, it is mind boggling how the ponzi is spreading.
Housing affordability at lowest level in 30 years, data shows
Skyrocketing house prices and mortgage rate increases have dragged housing affordability to its lowest level in three decades, according to new data from real estate analysts PropTrack.www.abc.net.au
Is that subscription? I don't subscribe, I can't see the reason I have to subscribe to something the taxpayer funded and pays for.Worth watching "What broke the rental market" on ABC iView.
We are not alone in the world in shortage of rentals
