Hello there!

David here in Melbourne!

I am new to this forum and a relatively NEW student of share trading!

Can anyone shed any light on the stock market "education Course" offered by Australian entrepreneurs Kaye Murray and David Chandler...their course being called "StockMarket Genie"!?

Here is a link TO their website and the course information:

http://www.stockmarketgenie.com

I stumbled on to their site quite by accident and although their claims sound VERY hard to believe, their course BY COMPARISON WITH OTHERS...is actually quite cheap at about $260 Australian!

I believe that theirs is JUST a course and does not involve "software" usage,
but maybe some of you MORE experienced traders out there reading this post from me, can shed more light on "StockMarket Genie".

Over to you guys for help, advice and opinion!

Kind Regards: DAVID M. (Box Hill North, Melbourne).

P.S. I am so glad that I found this forum, as it is a WEALTH of information from other People just like myself...CONSUMERS!!

Another first time poster and another link, how come I smell a rat again :behead:

127 % gain in 4 days eh, not bad, if I was you I would buy all their courses for the unbelievable price of $260.00, bargain or what :santa: has come early.I might go and buy a truckload for all my friends now.

David,

The most useful information on that site is in the disclaimer:

Information or examples contained in this course or any other StockMarket Genie™ publication are for educational, illustration and entertainment purposes only.
I think I could suggest better "entertainment" reading...

HI Guys...

David here again! I am the guy who posted the original message here
about "StockMarket Genie"...I thank you for your replies, but want to
reassure "PORPER" that I am in no way "linked" (pardon the pun!) to
StockMarket Genie, as I THINK you perhaps suspect that I am, by the
comments that you made!?

Please DO correct me if I am wrong, but I get the feeling that you think
I put that link to "StockMarket Genie" in, as a way of drawing people TO
that site...am I correct with that feeling "Porper"?

The FACTS of the matter are that I put the "link" there so that serious share traders could actually CHECK OUT what I had been referring to, so that they could then analyse the claims and report back on them. It sounded to me (a complete novice) that the "S.M.Genie" course might be really worth while investing in...that is all.

But, no hard feelings!

So that you know I have nothing at all to do with "StockMarket Genie" (ha, ha...not that I can PROVE that!), please feel free to email me in Box Hill North, Melbourne, at:

davidwmahoney@the-edge.net.au

Here is ANOTHER question and again...it is a SERIOUS one:

Sammon Corporation of South Australia (formerly "Sammon Terrington and Associates"), who sell their own software system "Stock Market Automated Research Tool", usually referred to as S.M.A.R.T.

I have heard quite a bit about this company and am wondering if any of you good people have ACTUALLY USED their software program and if so...what do you think about it!

FINALLY...please do not comment on it, if you have no experience OF it, as that is unprofessional and unfair to the Company concerned. I just want FACTS, not theoretical fiction...as that is not at all helpful to anyone of us!!

I firmly believe that unless we KNOW for sure that any share trading program/s and/or courses are NOT worthy, then we should make no negative comments about them, other than to say that perhaps we "doubt" their worth!?

Perhaps that is a bit harsh...but then I am 52 years of age and I don't have time for crap...or "crappy" comments!

Cheers: DAVID (Alias: Mega Rich).

P.S. I chose "Mega Rich" as my username, simply hoping that would align me with extra-terrestrial forces involved in monetary gain!?

David,

It sounded to me (a complete novice) that the "S.M.Genie" course might be really worth while investing in...that is all.
In my opinion, a "complete novice" would be better served investing in well known and respected material, like that available from the ASX. Jumping into something like this S.M. Genie with lots of promises of high and easy returns will likely have your forehead lighting up with the word "sucker" in bright red neon.

I've heard a number of people recommend Alan Hull's active investing strategy (http://www.alanhull.com), and Colin Nicholson has some useful info on his site too (http://www.bwts.com.au/index.htm).

Seminars by respected investment advisors like Peter Spann and Steve Navra would probably be worthwhile, although probably after you already have some knowledge of the markets.

And, FWIW, I've never heard of Sammon and don't have the slightest inclination to find out any more.

Well David from melbourne

I don't agree, anything that has headlines like "make 127% in 4 days" is a load of bull, stay away from all that claptrap, it will make you very poor.

Also you say that you put the link there for serious investors to have a look, sorry but serious investors don't want to look at crap like that, it is only for the dummies, they rip people off promising returns they never ever achieve.

As for "sammon Corporation" I have never heard of them, and have no intention of looking them up.If you are serious and not a ramper then I suggest you do as Great Pig suggests and read up on some "serious" books.

In all honesty if you are genuine then you shouldn't be investing in the market yourself yet, learn the fundamentals and watch the market for a while, and leave all the hype crap alone :bad:.My view only of course.

OUCH!!! That Hurts Guys...

...Still, at least you are honest and I appreciate that!

It is VERY hard to know what is right and what is CRAP when you start looking into these sorts of things, that's for sure!

This begs the question: Why in God's name don't some of our Government
Departments (like A.S.I.C., A.C.C.C. and the Office of Fair Trading) get stuck
into these promoters of such "programs and courses".

It would be relatively easy to send in REAL financial experts...on behalf of us ordinary members of the (unsuspecting) public and get a hold of these "courses" (as well as other things like so-called "biz.opps")...then closely scrutinize them and judge them WORTHY or UNworthy of our hard-earned dollars!

I have run this one by A.S.I.C. myself before...but basically they sidestep the issue and say "buyer beware, but you CAN complain IF you find it (the course/biz.opp./software program...whatever!) does not live up to your expectations!"

They (the Government) could save us "consumers" literally MILLIONS of dollars every year...just by forcing all these "PROVIDERS" of (in this case: Share Trading Advice) to submit their "courses/software...etc" to full-on testing and scrutiny!

Anyway...thanks again people for your advice...albeit "BLUNT" advice.

Cheers and "Merry Christmas"...DAVID M.

Sammon Terrington

The S.M.A.R.T. system by Sammon Corporation is not marketed as a get rich quick scheme, quite the opposite. The education provided will teach you how to avoid losing money whilst trading shares. As a student it would be wrong of me to attempt to explain their system but it is very different to most systems and does not involve charting. I did the course a few years ago and have learned a great deal about trading as a result. My successful trades outnumber my losses in number and value but I have not become 'rich' from using this software. Your success would depend on your attitude and the skills you develop. I recommend you read the book 'My Dad thinks I rob banks'. It is a marketing tool for the system but it gives you a good insight into the share market and how you can be successful. I am not affiliated with Sammon Corporation in any other way than as a client (and even if I was, so what?). 'Buyer beware' is the name of the game. Also the training and information available from the ASX is excellent and cheap (much is free!).

Good luck,

GW.

As others have said I don't think theres any benefit in wasting money on these program things.

Read some proven books like the Intelligent Investor by Ben Graham .... it's pretty old but still is a great piece of writing. Some other books are "Mad Money" by Jim Cramer which goes through 5 fantastic steps for doing research on companies. Another book I really enjoyed was "market wizards: interview with top traders".

Also go to the ASX website, they have got some fantastic free resources that you can download.

Best of luck!
