Alan Kohler discussed Lithium and the propensity for Li batteries to go on fire. There have been rather too many fires recently. He suggested that many are looking at a safer alternative.

He mentioned sodium-ion batteries of which I know little.

Should they take off the Lithium price will go even lower imo.

there are two ( ASX-listed ) companies working on vanadium based batteries ( without seeming to gain a lot of traction currently )

i believe ( but douible check ) the vanadium batteries use the flow method ( big storage tanks of fluids ) like RFX does but different chemicals

i saw one article on sodium -ion but am guessing that will need some refinements ( things MIGHT go terribly wrong in certain conditions )

i hold RFX ( and has been a flea-bitten mutt for me so far )

although i hold RFX ( deeply under-water ) i watch as the battery tech war gains traction ( i also hold MIN ;free-carried ' , IGO and WES but not because of the lithium exposure )
