Welcome to the September stock tipping competition everyone! :)

The competition this month is proudly sponsored by Stator-AFM. Stator-AFM is portfolio management software designed to give you total control over all your trading activities. Stator enables you to measure and understand every aspect of your financial returns. If you are a casual investor or serious trader, Stator is essential portfolio management software for anyone with exposure to the financial markets. From risk management to tax planning, Stator has it all.

If you're looking for the best portfolio management software money can buy, you can't beat Stator! :)

This month there were quite a few entrants who didn't qualify for the competition because they did not meet the entry criteria for one reason or another. In most cases this month it was because some stocks that were entered were below $0.01 at the time of entry or slipped below $0.01 before the end of the month. If you feel as though you have been left out of the competition unfairly please contact me via PM.

Could all qualifying entrants please check their entries and entry price and report any errors to me in this thread.

Keep track of the results here: ASF Stock Competition Leaderboard

Feel free to discuss the competition in this thread as the month progresses.

Joe, where's my VBA?

Hi GB,

Unfortunately we currently have a 0.30 posts per day qualification to enter the competition. This is mentioned in the competition rules section in first post of the entry thread.

However, this will be changing very soon as the competition is being reworked in the very near future and this qualification will be abolished in favour of a minimum of 25 posts. Entrants will also be able to select three stocks instead of one.

So, very sorry about this month, but you will be able to enter the new competition as soon as it is introduced.

WE have a double in the competition Joe on KRL. Angustmart was first to chose it. When I realised I put in an amendment to RNG.

Thanks for letting me know. I have made the appropriate corrections and updated the competition leaderboard. :)

Looks like my post was one of the ones lost into the cyberspace black hole. I did originally ask for CFE, but I think it's a bit late now...

Hi Joe
Thanks for the leg up in the Sept comp mate but as much as i'd love to have BTU (currently 2nd on the ladder) i feel it my duty to let you know that the BTU entered should have been BTV.( Easy mistake to make)
I'd hate to see a fellow ASF member miss out on a birth on account of a error.
P.S. I know it's a big call but i feel BTV isn't without a chance of surpassing BTU by the end of the month. Cheers:D

My apologies. This is now fixed.

The competition leaderboard will update around 5pm this afternoon.

No big deal but to be fair Joe shouldn't my entry be what BTV was at the time when entered not what it is now? Big difference.

I thought I got it right. It closed at $0.18 on the 31st of last month and now it's $0.245, an increase of 36.11%.

My apology Joe.
I was looking at the above list with the entry price of .255c thinking it was BTV. On reviewing saw it was BTU.
Easy to see how you made the initial mistake.
All good Cheers.

I've long hoped you'd change that. For those of us who've gone for decent periods without investing, catching up to the 0.3 posts/day criterion is impossible without just posting rubbish.

One other suggestion: How about linking the stock codes on the leader board to the discussion on here? I'm far more interested in what ASF contributors have to say about a stock than tradingroom.com.au's out-of-date quote. (We can easily look the current data up on whatever online broking site we use.)

This entry qualification has now been eliminated.

This is a little trickier but has been added to the "to do" list.

Congratulations to both Happy and Sdajii for taking out first and second place in the September stock tipping competition! :)

Can Happy and Sdajii please contact me via PM regarding their prizes.
