I have Metastock and would like to screen the ASX300 to find stocks that are more volatile than the index or more volatile than the rest.
I read somewhere that in the US all stocks have a volatility rating of some kind and you can use this to get the most volatile US stocks.
How can I do this for ASX stocks?
I know that ATR gives you an indication of the volatility but that for a particular stock, it's not going to tell me whether this is more or less volatile than any other so was hoping someone might have some ideas?
Thanks

Express ATR as a %

eg
(ATR(20)/ref(c,-1))*100

If you google -- Learn the Beauty of The MetaStock ATR Indicator -- you will find some videos for assistance. I myself have been meaning to fully grasp the ATR indicator and setting of stops in relation to.
