NSW ban on Chinese imports

Understand your point, but let's not forget who has thrown sound economic decisions out the door first - the NSW government.

Maybe they can compare tattoo's...

Sometimes, no matter how mad, you got to sit back and accept what the government does and get ready for an adjusted playing field. Losing business with China would hurt more than what we are going through right now.

Protectionism is a typical reaction at a time of economic stress. Backward decision by the NSW pollies. And now the people of NSW will end up paying more than they should for goods and services.

But, if money bounce around from builder to baker, to local clothing manufacturer through local bank, to teacher to shop with local produce, to farmer, to local mechanic and so on.

Does it matter if you pay little bit more than you would for imported products and wave money good bye?

I think the key thing for any subscriber of this thread is to think about actually what is going on in China and are "they" thinking for themselves.

Say for instance you go to Guangzhou in Beijing. A very affluent area where you can buy a Diamond-studded Cartier watch for maybe $40,000, cheap by western standards, of course.

But like I have done, go there in the middle of winter and see what you'll find.
After exiting the Guangzhou shopping area by foot, within 5 minutes you should meet many peasants carrying starving/sick or probably both children just trying to keep their child alive. ALL they want is $1.

When you experience this disparity between rich and poor, you would have to have an IQ below 46 to realise the disparity between rich and poor in China.

The point of this....

Do you as an investor/shareholder want to maintain this disparity?

Are you advocating the ban by the NSW government then?

But what i say is that if a fella/lady down on her luck wants to sell me a BIG ISSUE on the streets of either Melbourne/Sydney. I am more than happy to pay and tip them for their endeavour. At least I might know more about their social station and whats going on~!
