Why does it really matter...if your self esteem is good Y.T., then you wouldn't care what other people think about what you express. Its only people with low self esteem that get all emotional about what others think.

Something I am learning right now...grab any self esteem book, and you will notice that the higher your self esteem is increased, then the less you actually care about what others think of you.

Its amazing how little people actually really care...but we tend to over-dramatise everything in our heads...

People were damaging YT's integrity, and thats a serious issue STC. Its darn hard to find people with integrity these days, and even harder to find someone that is proud about the fact that they have it!

Good on him for wanting to protect that i say!

YT this is a public forum,
why do you care what people are doing with your information,you have a diclaimer on the end of the post,surely that`s enough.If people get burnt obviously they don`t know what they are doing and so it remains exclusively their fault.

I really have to STRONGLY disagree with your post.

I would prefer our PM for eg to acknowledge the ramifications and the consequencs of his actions to the Australian people. Would display some character depth imho.

YT is not complaining about what others think of him personally, he is concerned about the consequences of his postings. I read an article regarding ferrowest in the Australian that referred to recent unexplained share activity. No doubt this was a reference to the momentum built up by YT's research. So he is simply being ethical in an unethical world. How that is low self esteem is a bit of a stretch.

On a more serious note I think it is good to see someone have a moral obligation regarding their posts. In this faceless world of forums too many people figure ethics need no longer apply. Good on you YT - good research and a decent person to boot.

If the PM took onboard Australia's problems he would come home at the end of each day in tears and on Prozac...he doesn't so his self esteem must be in good shape.

What others do with this information YT provides has no impact on YT as a person. Sounds as if YT is taking on too much of others peoples responsibilites.

Spag...I don't know about that. FWL started moving before YT posted about it on the forum.

Martin Place had been recommeding this to clients prior to this.

No doubt that there was a significant push on the SP from here, but I don't think YT moves stocks from a standing start on his excellent research alone.

You could post your picks before you buy them and notify of your intent to sell before selling.


On a serious note the use of bold text in your posts to highlight key points makes them seem like ramping - you're marketing your case - if you're just interested in posting analysis and having a real discussion about that analysis then those that actually digest it and respond in kind won't need the bolding.

I suspect that the hype will wax and wane over time - for everyone of these stocks that overrun and come back to earth there are a large amount of losers as well as winners - some of those won't jump on the next pick so easily - you're also not likely to get all of them right so a couple of dud picks in a row and it things are likely to settle down.

I have a dilema and I'm not sure how to handle it,

Clearly alot of people follow my research, but I am worried they are blindly following my research, so I am going to edit my signature to make it clear that I am not a fincial advisor etc

The other problem is that alot of people are PM'ing me for some sort of private breakout list or something,

The only reason I considered doing this, is that unfortunately shortly after I post my research for the benefit of all of us ASF'ers and so we can discuss etc it gets poached by others and posted on other forums, these people are only interested in making a quick back and will pump and dump, I don't want to become associated with these sort of sotck movements,

Stocks I pick have long term value and while there will always be ups and downs, the re-rating should be gradual AS IT USED TO BE, and not like this, just day trading crazy!


I really really would like to see ASF be locked so that only members can read the individual stock threads,

Either this or maybe a new section created which is locked under fundamental research, or something like that?

What do you guys think?

I dare say there may be a few blind followers who have bought stocks based solely on YT's research however there is a good chance that without some evaluation they will be buying on the highs not on the way up.

YT i understand your concern that people may be buying on the strength of your work only and are exposing themselves to risk but they wont last long without some personal evaluation prior to buying.

I would be more concerned with the cutting and pasting as not only is it stealing your homework it impacts on potential growth of this forum.

The requirement is to prevent copying in my view as the blind followers will either learn or run out of cash.

Number of ways to do this, however charging access wont stop it happening. In fact it would probably increase as people would potentially feel that they have paid for the information so it is verified as accurate and they own it to do with as they please.

Perhaps some sort of policing via a 3 strike system be invoked such as 1st offence a warning, 2nd a temporary ban and third strike you are out.

Buying HIGH and Selling HIGHER is not a BAD cruise Strategy IMHO
In fact I find it is a much better Cruise strategy than Buying Low and Selling High

If its not commerce and marketing then you've missed your calling imo.

Why not RPL and do your financial advisors certificate than you can change your footer to "I am a financial advisor, show me the money"

The only dilemma, I can see, is a bit of the magic must wear off when you say "I have this stock" it goes up immediately, all the crazies on HC start hyperventilating,so you sell @ a huge profit................

Whatever your motives, remember that some of us work shift work, go to uni' part-time and are trying to renovate around their kids and missus so time is a precious commodity.
If you can lead us onto one good trade that's a big bonus.
