Dear all who read this

I'm a 15 year old student who wants to learn the stock market from the inside-out. If anyone who stumbles upon this thread to point me in the right direction, or if anyone could contact me personally through email to show me to best starting point I would be very greatful.

Thank You

From Newbie Investor

Your in the right spot to learn.

Have a look around the site. Use the search function to search for topics that interest you, also be sure to check out the beginners lounge - there are some very good threads in there.

You are only just beginning your investment journey - one which never ends. As long as you enjoy it, you will forever seek to continue your learning. My advice would be to start taking notice of how businesses make money and spend money, i.e. how do they get cash and what do they do with it. This does not have to be an intensive exercise, just take notice of the companies you interact/transact with.

Also look into some documentaries and books written by a wide variety of authors. This will send you down a massive rabbit-hole, hopefully you will find a strategy that suits your own personality for you to explore further. Keep in mind that there are many successful traders/investors, all of whom have their own personal styles and techniques. It is up to you to figure out what works for you.

You are very young, this is a perfect time to learn...you don't have to learn everything at once - so take your time and enjoy the journey.

Benaz, congratulations on taking an interest at such a young age. I suggest the best place to start, along with some of the threads here, is the Education section at the ASX.
www.asx.com.au

There are self paced modules which you can work through, building an understanding of how the market works, the different approaches to investing or trading, charting and other really useful beginner advice.

All the best.

^+1, It's better to openly ask questions on the forum as there are so many beginners who are probably in the same position as you.

If you are just starting out, you should familiarise yourself with:

1) Investing
2) Trading

They both involve the stock market and have quite different approaches, and there is a great community of both here on the forums. But since you said are you are 15 and just starting out, it would probably be wise to understand how the stockmarket works and familarise yourself with the terminology. As always, investopedia is a great place to start, it's pretty much the Wiki of the stock market. Here's a good place for you to start: http://www.investopedia.com/university/stocks/
