Hey Guys

I'm new to the share market but have played the ASX online game before and did reasonably well at it (hoping to repeat that luck this time).

I currently have some small money around $1500 i'm happy to put into the share market and use it as a learning exercise.
The companies i'm looking at are all a mixed case ( some blue chip some not ) but I cant figure out which one to invest in.

CBA - Whilst it's a Blue chip company it is fairly high and has a good yield I don't know if there is very much grown left in its share price?

ANZ - Another blue chip company and I can buy a lot more shares with my small amount.

For my long term growth shares i'm looking at

Crown Casino and Reef Casino Trust.

Can anyone give any recommendations if these share are over priced or if there are other alternatives out there? I also plan to do my own research but if someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate that.

how high the stock price go got nothing to do with its stock price ...it's all about earning
stock can goes from $100 to $500 if it can continue to making more and more money
Apple a few years ago $100 now it's $550 bucks

and stock can go from $10 to $7 if its earning decline etc...
QAN five years ago $5 now it's a $1 stock...

That's an illogical conclusion. All you should be focused on is % return on your capital investment.
Take your $1500: You can buy more ANZ with this than you can CBA because of the difference in the SP.
The cost per share has nothing to do with your eventual profit or loss.
Hopefully you will not buy anything until you have acknowledged this very basic point.

I don't mean to be rude, but could this have just been beginner's luck?

What did you base your choices on? What did your 'research' consist of?

Sorry I meant like if I bought say $1500 worth of commonwealth shares the share price would need to rise higher for me then say if I bought ANZ. I was just concerned with maybe the commonwealth share becoming overpriced

Not going to lie it probably was beginners luck.

Well, i'd look at the ASX graph to see how it faired and then I'd read the annual reports and prospectus to see what the company was up to and what they had planned in the future.

Thanks everyone for all the help and advice. Really appreciate it
