I had Woodside but sold due to fears of their short term debt. Im looking for a good value petroleum stock with a solid balance sheet. What have you guys got in your portofolio?

Have santos, thinking of entering BPT/ Woodside.

I am looking to enter a blue chipper (Woodside) and hold it for the long term. Although I thought of entering this stock when the price of oil was $50/US, I held back. I also read an article today that they expected oil to reach $25/US (mind you this might of been predicted from the same guy who said we would be paying $2/L for petrol by Christmas)....so you can't bank on that I am affraid.

If your looking for a more short term play, have a look at AWE...it went ex-div last week though so kepe this in mind when DYOR. It has the fundamentals to support buying (low debt to equity, good mangement...ect)

I own WPL (and I did buy during the last dip to $55 some 2 years ago, or something like that). Thinking of adding to my holding.

CVN - Thailand (self funded successful explorer and producer holding plenty of cash with ex-tap oil MD)

STO - Santos (might be a takeover coming there)

Of course, if you like gas, I could recommend a handful of my little coal seam gas holdings in Qld and NSW (I see PES as a strong takeover target - see that thread for all of my postings)
