Moving overseas, can I sell Aussie stocks internationally?

Hi, I'm looking to move overseas in a year or so and hold some Aussie stocks. I'd rather not sell but would prefer to sell when I'm ready in the UK. However I've no idea whether I can buy with Aussie dollars and sell for GBP. Do I need to change broker and if so can someone suggest an international broker? Would there be any complications with capital gains?

Don't make it complex. Sell for AUD$.
Then exchange for GBPPound anywhere in UK

Ask the taxman about CGT.
He's a nice man ... until you break the law. :)

Thanks for the reply Burglar but I was really looking for a way to move assets from A to B. I'm not looking to avoid any tax just the vagaries of exchange rates and inevitable transaction fees.

You'll get kicked coming or you'll get punched going.
Only sunrise is free.

You have to sell your shares through your broker here, so will be paid out in AUD. You will then need to convert that AUD to GBP at the exchange rate at the time.

You could potentially hedge a portion of your known upcoming FX exposure via a basic forward contract, but not many firms will do that for individuals.

Sell them online when you are ready (via your online trading account), then simply transfer the money to your UK bank account... simple. The AUD will convert to GBP on the day. That's the simplest way.
