LTR - Liontown Resources

IMHO..There could be another plan in this company business besides lithium before she boldly Blocked the take over.
Would any sound business person simply dump their money into any take over without a plan?
Thinking out of the square box.
Do you mean the rumor that Gina wants to sell Li spod to India?
I think it's just a waiting game now, if the Li spod prices go up no doubt everything will change and a TO is most likely imminent.

All my opinion.

If she starts selling, there is a big problem...

Good morning @Rabbithop
Hoping find you well.

Gina might buy LTR lock stock and barrel ... SP so much lower than what she paid for her squillion + stake in the company @ $2.50-$3.00 ps. Reckon she would hafta ... unless the fly in the boardroom knows better ha ha ha ha

Guessing the questions are: Does Gina see value in Lithium as a commodity, moreover, does Gina have the appetite to to go in boot an all in support of LTR as the company to produce Lithium....????

There was an article written in the AFR on 22 January 2024 by Chanticleer ... which provoked some thinking...
Summary being:

Gina Rinehart’s name wasn’t mentioned when Tony Ottaviano revealed the $760 million debt package he arranged last year to build the company’s Kathleen Valley lithium mine had turn to sh-t... due to the plunging lithium price.
This was arguably a perfect time for Gina's support in this space confirming her appetite for LTR. Having said this, the value of her 19.9% stake has fallen 70 per cent !!!!

According to Chanticleer, if she [Gina Rinehart] is a long-term believer in lithium’s demand outlook, and Kathleen Valley’s quality as a project, then this is arguably a perfect time to put money to work.

For Liontown, the question is, what trade-offs would be involved in a deal struck in the company’s hour of need? Financing, whether in the form of debt or equity, would surely come with greater influence for Hancock Prospecting over the company’s strategic direction.

In light of this, what do you reckon Rabbithop??
Not holding

Have a very nice week.

@rcw1 Good mate reckon that the Mining Queen sees a solid future in LTR otherwise she wouldn't have poured millions into it in the first place.
Any negotiations would surely see her have a controlling interest and final say in what the direction will be.
Was holding till last week and then decided to bail out with a moderate loss.
Still a watcher though.

Hope your block gets the insurance attention it deserves. Cannot do much about the weather.... Problem is resilience has its limits too.

LTR - rcw1 is a watching. Personally, rcw1 likes the stock and assumes in time, be sooner rather than later, it's worth will be truly realised ... There has been banter galore good and bad about lithium for ages now. Depends what one wants to believe... true though is that prices go up and they go down. Spodumene - how much and how long for crystal ball... is still somewhat murky, abit like the water coming from a roof never managed, chockers full of foulage

Kind regards

I am now watching the mining Queen now for a date. She has reduced W (weight) every by kilos but increased her (W = wealth) by $100] of millions to fulfil my W wish:)
@Miner The Mining Queen's buy into LTR though a substantial sum would hardly make a dent into iron ore train load of moolah that cometh her way each month.
It certainly will be interesting to watch to see what her next move will be.
Will Sir Tim be given the Order of the Boot?

And now time to wallow and splash in the pool to cool off. Now down to 34deg.

Please correct or educate me if I am wrong.

My understanding is that the blocked takeover offer expires on 11th Feb. (withdrawn but has an expiry date ?).
Does that meant that Gina can then make an offer of $2 to $2.50 for LTR and its hers if they accept it ?

Happy to be corrected but I believe GR can make an 'at market' offer after that date, if it's before that date it has to be in the range of what she first bought in at, around the $3 mark.

Hi m8

Under the “minimum bid price rule”, any takeover bid must match or exceed the highest price paid by the bidder for the relevant stock in the previous four months.

That means Rinehart would need to wait until February (cannot remember the exact date) and declare her intentions, if she wants to make a takeover bid for Liontown that is steeply below the $3 per share range.

Kind regards

Thanks folks.
Does anyone else think that this could get interesting after that period then ?
(Disc. I do hold so I have an interest, had a good run on it last time so hoping for a repeat).

@Boggo Can't see the Mining Queen coming back into the market at $3 or more when she will probably get what she wants for a pittance. Closing SP $1.03 with 21.830 million shares changing hands. Under a dollar it's a gift.
