I have been trying to imagine a society, nay a brewtopia, where every single adult is employed as a barista. This is all going to end badly IMO.
Increasing population, no increase in productivity or exports, can't end well.
I think student doctors will be taking those fancy barista jobs in WA .I have been trying to imagine a society, nay a brewtopia, where every single adult is employed as a barista.
Picture this... get off work after a hard day's work making coffees, then off to the local cafe to share stories about making coffee with your old barista brothers from that diner where you used to make coffee together back in the day. Then off home for a nice cuppa joe before bed. Wake up with a nice cup of coffee in your favourite coffee mug. You were feeling jittery, so hair of the caffeine dog always helps. Then off to another rewarding day of serving coffee to people who are on a break from their own barista jobs at nearby cafes. But hey you're just workin' for the weekend, right? That's when you can indulge your favourite pastime... going and exploring trendy new cafes.
But now there's rumblings about coffee cost going sky high, making the dream of everyone being a barista further and further out of reach: https://www.9news.com.au/national/c...-of-2025/6ca82eee-ea91-41db-8e92-98dfb1c16332
Maybe the grads should aim to open a cafe that also has a little backroom that offers some basic GP services, like sometimes you see a tattoo parlour and a barber as part of the same hybrid business.

I was driving through the new subdivision near Midland this morning (coming back from a medical appointment) and there were a couple of blokes up on the roof of one of new homes being built, shorts and no shirts.

If I croak in the next few days, it is more likely that they'll flog off my skin as pork crackling, rather than any my other bits@frugal.rock Feb 5 is now the big day with heart specialist.
Wouldn't be surprised if the Crown Jewels weren't fried by being on a tin roof with little protection with the temps we have had recently.
Today was cruel and this afternoon was crucifying with the humidity and the light sprinkle we got around 6pm.I
