I have a problem with his political agenda, which is actually the problem. The Monarch should not have an obvious political agenda and his involvement with the world economic forum is deeply troubling in my opinion.

Pretty well nails my feelings, looking around I just can't see any Republic that isn't in a worse state than us, our style of Government has been developed over a long, long time and most if not all of the issues have been sorted.
I just can't imagine any of our politicians past or present improving on it, the only issue people seem to get hung up on is the head of state being in another country, even though it is only a figurehead position, this mostly comes back to our own insecurities, tall poppy syndrome and inferiority complexes.
New Zealand and Canada don't seem to have the same insecurity issue with it and as you say, one only has to look at the main propagators of a republic, to realise they would like nothing better than be in a position of absolute power where they not only can tell people what to do, but make them. :2twocents

IMO his is only a honorary role and as such the more he stays out of politics the better, I'm sure his personality will not carry the weight of sway that his predecessor did.
Elizabeth 2 fulfilled the role to perfection IMO and it was her hands off approach, yet sure but silent strength that made her the unbelievable figurehead she was and IMO it was her dignity and stewardship that gave Britons the common bond they share.
Charles would do well to button up and follow her lead IMO, respect isn't something you inherit, it's something you earn.

For 70 years, the Queen combined, with great success, two roles: head of state and head of the nation. These roles are both complementary and contradictory.

As head of the nation, the Queen sought to represent the country to itself, and indeed came closer than any monarch in history to reaching the soul of the British people. A head of the nation has to represent the whole nation, not just one part of it, and that requires political impartiality.
Yet as head of state, the exercise of that role’s discretionary power could easily be controversial, pitting one section of her people against another. It is for this reason that the Queen always spoke and acted on the advice of ministers. A fundamental condition for the success of her reign was that she made no attempt to intervene in politics, or even to express a political opinion.
The advice of ministers to the sovereign is binding, and the Queen normally had no option but to accept it. She could not, therefore, have a policy of her own independent from that of her ministers.

He has set a high bar and IMO he isn't doing a bad job, but there are a lot of fires burning and none are really being put out.
Inflation is a work in motion on many fronts, homelessness is a growing problem, housing affordability isn't getting any better and it was at crisis point before they came in, unemployment is being patched with mass immigration, the power system over East is spiralling into chaos.

So what is now the media's focus, the republic and the voice, well it does show the elites are definitely in charge IMO.
Hopefully Albo ignores them. :xyxthumbs

Did you know @ basilio , that King Charles has very little if any say in Government, it is a honorary position, as the left wing people back in the middle ages, overthrew the ruling class of elites and gave the power to the people.

King Charles has no say in the Government he is just a figurehead, how is the U.S going with there system? Trump wouldn't have got in with our system of Government, but as with everything else follow the media drum and march on. ?

FW's led by FW's IMO, but hey, people get what they deserve.
Now we have the left wing, wanting to give the power back to the rich and powerful, it certainly is a strange world we live in.
Maybe we will end up with president Rupert Murdoch. :whistling:
