Interactive Brokers Troubleshooting

Markets havent opened yet? But I did get a message about no market depth or something. Lets see how it goes.

On a separate topic, how come IB doesn't show the Opening prices for stocks? Or the open gap for that matter.

If you're getting the last close you should be OK, IB doesn't show the preopen. I'm getting the last close, hist volatility, and XJO option spreads because they are already trading.

Skc, I have the same problem this morning, no spi data from ib, forex is working fine though.

Definitely no feed. No SPI, no prices, no green light on the Market data tap on bottom right...

EDIT: Bulletins just came through. Some customers having problems with AU farms.

G'Day app2,

I've haven't excercised an option through TWS but you need to enable the option exercise feature via the view menu, then you work your way through it in the option excercise window.

EDIT>> BTW, i was under the impression that options are automatically exercised if they are in the money at expiry so i assume you have other reasons for early exercise but please do your own research on this.

Not sure if that exercise window is just for ETOs, Cutz. App2 might need to check with IB if that's the place to exercise company options as they often have their own PDS and can have different rules to the standard ETOs that we trade.

Oops,

Sorry guys, i automatically assumed apps2 was talking about ETO's, i just had a look on iress and just realized I’m on the wrong track.

Looks like they fixed it finally. The funny thing was the prices were still available. i.e. my alarms were going off, but just couldn't see the prices.

Anyone know of a quick way to enter a bunch of ASX symbols into IB from a Excel list?

The other night i placed some orders through amibroker, and the Buy & Sell showed in API as usual, and the BUY also showed in pending (as the buy was the only pending order and the sell would be pending once the BUY is done)

Tonight they are only showing up in the API section and not pending, but i havn't changed anything

Does anyone know how to get the FIRST pending order shown in pending. It will get confusing adding lots of orders every night (shorts too) if i can't see the initial order that has to be done..

Interactive brokers platform

I am wondering how it is working. Sometimes, i set prices but suddenly just gone ??? It happens a lot of times.

Sometimes, I suddenly have two orders executed of the same thing. Could anybody explain what is happening please ?

Something fishy going on here ???

I do not like fish, if something like that is happening I would finish with them soon.

Do we really need another IB thread??

Maybe you should try something else. I would think your are doing something wrong. Nothing fishy with IB just people who don't know how to use it.

Best thing to do is call them and ask, they are pretty helpful and will be able to see what you have executed and when you placed that order, also what orders are you placing and how familiar are you with order types ?, a buy limit for example will execute straight away if the market is below the Limit price.

Ive had various orders on the odd occasion execute but each time it had been human error on my part

Remember once why my stop had never gone off in the Topix futures ?, my stop had been something like 922.5 but i had placed it as 9225

This is what I did. I put a sell/buy limit position against held portfolio I hold using their FXtrader, overnight. They positions are gone, well some should have been executed but no. It has happened a lot of times before too even in front of my eyes ???

So, not sure that is something I do.

A few times, I tried their stop loss. Only once I get my stop loss executed. It seems logic if i have stop loss limit, once the price is crossed, it would be executed but no !!!

So, I do not think it is human error on my part is it ???

I just do not understand ?

Put me down for one who doesn't know what they are doing
Set some orders in my paper trading account (forward testing a system)

when i got to work this morning they are gone?

They were sent via API and definitly arrived in IB

If anyone knows pm me
