does anyone use IG to trade the FTSE??
have you noticed the deal ticket prices moving rapidly and out of synch to the chart price?; flicking a couple of ticks rapidly either side of the chart price!
making it very difficult to hone in on a price without ordering, which isnt always practical intraday trading.
IG tell me its because the market is moving quickly. hmmm . . . .
now this sounds reasonable but i've traded the ftse using other platforms and the deal ticket prices never moved as rapidly as they do on the IG tickets.
its disorientating watching the deal ticket when it moves around like that.
any thoughts?

Gidday JA, I am a long term IG account holder (which basically means I haven't been able to take much money off them ) ........... yet !! ......... but their charts lag the real price action noticeably at times, making it pretty hard if you are trying to "short term" trade ..............
I get the impression their "deal ticket" is pretty close to the "real" price, but if you are trying to trade off their charts (scalping), its pretty difficult ............. Cheers.
I would not recommend using IG markets for the stock markets. You cant see the market depth. I only use them for forex
If you want a little bit faster graphs from them, all you need to do is click the drop down box next to the security you desire and click the "Advanced chart" button.
If I do any scalping i use "order to open" above/below resistance/support lines. Watching their charts and clicking the button is far far to slow.
Just something to consider.
When placing trades take a screen dump of the confirmation box showing the entry and stop prices.
I had a short trade on AUD/USD pair and was surprised to find out that I was stopped out at my entry price!!
IG maintain that my trade was filled at the "correct" price. (Their correct price and at their "exact time" the trade was placed ).
There should be NO difference between the price they display to you and the price they tell you you entered at. Hmmmm
I lost over 80 pips profit. They were unwilling to address the situation.
Check any discrepancies between the displayed entry price and what they actually give you.
I let them know I will be taking screen dumps of all confirmations from now on
and if there are any discrepancies they will be hearing from me!!!!
Not happy !!!!
